By Any Other Name

In December, 2001, President Bush approved Public Law 107-89 declaring 9/11 to be “Patriot Day”.

In April, 2009, Congress passed and President Obama signed into law the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. In that Act, September 11th was officially declared “The National Day of Service and Remembrance.”

Screw you.

We know what day it is.

Here, here! Harvey, you are a man after my own heart.

  2. MarkoMancuso says:

Well, thanks to Obama, every day is now a day of remembrance.

  3. IH8Socialist says:

Hey pinko commie terrorist loving liberals service this!

  4. Plentyobailouts says:

On this most solemn of days, where REAL AMERICANS remember that MUSLIM TERRORISTS, viciously attacked and killed over 3000 inncocent people, I can only say to present hussein, the classless disgrace: I GOT YOUR SERVICE, RIGHT HERE! You lousy pos.

May your families be safe, and may we never forget. God bless America!

  5. Barb says:

These clowns, whose “newspaper of record” was running positive articles on a former leftist domestic terrorist on 9/11, don’t even begin to understand that our nation saw more service on 9/11, and in the days following, and continuing on through today, than they could possibly imagine.

Our nation, I say. Not their wannabe socialist mastership. “Screw you. We know what day it is.” Yes.

Here’s a brief “John Wayne (who died in 1979) and 9/11″ You Tube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYE_e8lUeH4 The quote is from “The Searchers.”

We picked ourselves up after that and carried on. We are SO awesome.

Civilians and soldiers alike, we will all continue to serve our country, not them, until we get all the ones who did this to us eight years ago today.

Because it’s our country. Not theirs. And they will eventually, sheepishly realize–or relearn–that in America, the people lead, and the leaders follow.

IDK, I saw a news photo of the first couple at a 9/11 service, hands on their hearts, Michelle looking like “OK, I’m here, but I’m sure they had it coming”

  7. Brutus says:

“Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

A solemn Patriot’s Day to all. And to all who serve to keep me and mine safe each day, Thank You.

A lot of us in ‘fly over’ country volunteer our services daily: we volunteer for the military, we help at our schools, we help at our hospitals, we participate in food banks, we donate blood, we feed elderly, we provide taxi services to the invalids, we visit prisons - we do all of this without a thought of recompense. We do this because this is what we do. We do this because it is right to do this. We do this because we Love, in a manner that the Obama-corps can never understand.

I do not need a community organizer, whose concept of volunteerism requires financial payment or educational trade-offs, to tell me about service. Has Obama or his ilk ever performed any service without being paid for it? By their own records, the resounding answer is “NOT”.

Hey, you bunch of libtard airholes, don’t talk to me about Service and Remembrance; you have no idea what it means.

the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act

My God. Just imagine if New Yorkers and the men on Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, had served the way that Teddy Kennedy did on July 18, 1969.

  10. Steve says:

    A-MEN Harvey.

  11. luvsacowgirl says:

Only this administration could bastardize a simple proclamtion-self serving as it is- into a multi-page eye glazing, brain numbing, document that they did. I’m sure there is a whole layer of new bureaucratic oversite to monitor who and how service is offered, performed and of course compensated. Because these community “servicers” have no concept of helping others for the altruistic reason the people of the heart land do. They only do it for thier own end gain, and to be seen a compasionate.
Lets remember what this day is truly about, watch the video, painful as it is and as much as the MSM wants it to be swept away. Remember those innocents who were taken from out midst, in the name of a horrific ideology that needs to be purged from the face of this earth!

  12. Son of Bob says:

I’m sure the families of those who perished in 9/11 will appreciate their opportunity to serve Lord Obama on the anniversaries of their loved ones’ death. All hail Lord Obama. Obama Akbar.

  13. BeerSnob says:

    Well said Harvey

  14. Basil says:

Looks like Obama’s F*ck Sh*t Up Czar is in charge of days of remembrance.

I’ve had to delete any comment I can come up with, this being a PG site and my respect for this day and all of you.

  16. Eros says:

“The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act.”

As if the left needs an official day for drunken debauchery, bowing to our enemies and selling out our country. Like Storm 1911, on any further comments towards “Dumbo the Messiah” and his band of merry traitors on hijacking this day (Funny, isn’t it, that we use this day to remember true heros and actual victims while the left celebrates by staging their own hijacking) further comments would not be suitable to this site.

  17. AlanABQ says:

The so-called Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act should be firmly set on August 26th forever after. That was the one & only day he did the best thing he could’ve possibly done for America. But still, even August 26th should be known as The Mary Jo Kopechne Rememberance Day.

This is Patriot Day, end of story. Kennedy’s name has no place anywhere near this date.

    Thank you, Harvey.

  18. RightWingTink says:

I have no comment for this crap being that this site is PG-13.

  19. Silhouette says:

Shut up with your stupid patriotism and serve the state. Serve it! According to your ability.

  20. AlanABQ says:

    #19 Silhouette-

What if, like the liberals, I don’t have any abilities? Maybe I just have needs, like I need: a new car, a Blackberry, and some name brand-name shoes to wear to the ER so I can get free meds after cashing my welfare check.

  21. Son of Bob says:

    AlanABQ,

Then someday you may be president.

  22. bigDon says:

This is a humor blog, and yes, that brought a smile to my face. At least on that side of the grave, you don’t get a day named in your honor for drowning your pregnant secretary.

  23. Rignerd says:

Well I think we can use this day of service idea. Lets all go kill a bunch of terrorists as an act of service to America!

Watching the videos of peoples reaction to the attacks as they were happening reminded me of what I want them to be saying in their countries. The girls screaming and crying out to God, is what they should be doing. Save the moon, nuke those Ba$tards until you can walk through the airport without a security check.

  24. Skowronek says:

I ran across your site and this article and thought I’d clarify that he is not eliminating the Patriot Day entirely. I still think it’s sort of hokey though.

PATRIOT DAY AND NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE, 2009

  25. Harvey says:

    Not eliminating, just diluting.

Like pouring a cup of piss into a glass of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Pauillac 1990.

    Technically, it’s still wine.
