I hate to say this, but I think we’re going to see Bush govern the way he really wants to, as a big spending government “moderate.”
He’ll give away the farm to the Dems to keep the war going in Iraq.
I hope Donald Rumsfeld has a nice retirement home picked out, because he’s going to be the first thing given away to keep the dems happy.
Sad day, but the Repubs brought it on themselves. Stick to conservative values, we win, compromise for mediocracy, we lose. The only good thing is that the dims will have to actually reveal what their “new direction” is. Let’s see, let me guess: higher taxes, even higher spending, cut and run from the war on terrorism and ruining a robust economy. Gee, I guess we all win!
I have a nice day planned that should annoy the Dems at least a little.
I’m off with a friend later to pick up the Mauser he ordered from Mitchell’s Mausers. While at the gun store I have a feeling I’ll be compelled to buy something just to wash the taste of today out of my mouth.
This particular gun store has a great consignment wall. I’ve found some very tasty items there.
I agree with Frank but the Republicans have only themselves to blame. They have been totally inept at articulating their position and their “leaders” have been more interested in getting along with democrats at cocktail parties in Washington than acting like conservatives…so they go thrown out! Now we can only hope that the dems act like dems and the American people will get a chance to see what they have elected before 08!

Is that a Mauser 98k. or a C96 Broomhandle Mauser?
I used to have a Broomhandle. It was a really cool looking gun. Not especially acurate, not very reliable, and a pain to reload, but very cool looking. Man, I miss it.
It’s the K98, we both already have Yugo M48s from Mitchell’s, but he wanted the German version.
You had a broomhandle Mauser? Now I’m jealous. Heck, I’m jealous of a guy who has only the holster for one. That’s one cool gun.
Although I’m a little disappointed (or sorry depending on the circumstances) you no longer have it. I can see getting rid of some guns, I just sold my .45LC Winchester/Blackhawk combo, but to get rid of a broomhandle!

Yeah, I’d love to get one of those rare broomhandles that came in 9mm and had a detachable magazine. It’d be a lot more practical that way, but the forward mounted detachable magazine on a pistol makes it an “assault weapon” here in California. Stupid Democrats.

Since I think the war is the most important issue, that’s not the worst news to me.
