My nomination for the best presenter of the evening goes to Ben Stiller! However, I did have to take a long hard look at Sophia Loren.
That woman still has it!!
Sean Penn is an idiot! –And the “elegant one” is also an IDIOT. We would be much better off if this country had no “cultural enlightenment” #5 THE OBAMA is for bankrupting this once great country(to enable a power shift to the UN) and against the free market, American values, and common sense.
Burt, many years ago I was in a bar in Navarre MN half in the bag and a guy came in and sat down next to me. He started telling me the raunchiest, funniest jokes I have ever heard. Turned out he was Ben Stiller. I asked him what the hell he was doing in this little sh!t hole. Turns out the owner was from CA and was a friend of Ben’s. Stiller is actually a very nice guy and very funny in real life…
Ben Stiller, although be it is truly hit or miss with his films, is hilarious; I concur Jimmy. Everyone should revisit a film he directed, truly black comedy as Stiller does so well, which did not do very well at the box office when it was realeased, nevertheless is a very, very funny movie, The Cable Guy. In fact you could argue that Stiller has the funniest part; albeit small. Also this was Owen Wilson’s first real appearance on the big screen having the snot beat out of him involving an electric hand dryer in a bathroom by Carey to the soundtrack of Yardbird & Diz’s ‘Salt Peanuts’ – priceless.
I will say this about last night’s Oscars which I did not, nor do I ever watch; Thank God Heath won something for The Dark Knight, easily one of the years best films and best performances, and a significant movie directly reflecting our times. His Joker still skeeves me out when I watch the film, and that’s after more than 10 viewings. RIP Ledge, you knocked it out of the park with that one bro. Proving for all of us the memorable line from Turkell in Bladerunner, ‘The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long’.
Liberty Bob is correct. Danny Glover and Sidney Poirtier are fine examples of anti-American idiots that happen to be black actors. Much like the current president, except they actually memorize their lines.
As usual, I didn’t tune into the Hollywood Handjob (errr…”Oscars”) last night. I think they should think about re-naming the statues “Laughing Lenins,” since Hollywierd has become nothing but a commie-cal farce. Afterward, I couldn’t help hearing Penn’s sound-bite on the radio. Gee…how did I predict another film about a homosexual would walk away with several awards? Immediately after hearing that sound-bite, the image formed in my head of McCarthy rising out of the grave and screaming, “Didn’t I warn you all?!?” Shortly afterward, I had to click in “Sergeant York” to remind myself that something decent once came out of Hollywood.
The easiest role Sean Penn every played was the retarded guy…..because he IS retarded.
Freemon, it kinda makes you wonder if the character in the original script was even supposed to be retarded.

I knew that the night wouldn’t end without a moron making a dumb-assed political statement.
Er… I don’t think *anyone* knows what Obama is for/against.

“Cultural enlightenment ” Is code for LIBERAL STUPIDITY
It sounds like you were engaged in racial stereotyping. You have to remember that not all the stupid actors are white.
Freemon…pretty much nailed it!!! LMAO!!!

Frank, that’s an idea for an IMW: “Real Jobs.”
Didnt anyone notice that Penn climbed on stage and on his soap box without ever paying homage to his wife!!!!

Sean Penn? You mean the same Penn who dry humps El Chavez and praises Cuba?
Sean Penn peaked in the role of Spicoli……….
