I am not impressed by many tweets. So many people just phone them in.

While I admire the pregnancy/birthing process as a cleverly patched together system, as an engineer, I still recommend a complete redesign. Obviously it works, or the human race would have ceased to exist, but it will never have good reliability unless the design is started over.

  1. No! More like the 30’s.

As an engineer from Detroit I saw the auto industry improve so much from the early 50’s until the 90’s. My first car, a 54 Ford, needed a tune up every 10,000 miles. You had to pull the choke out each moring and pump the gas peddle 3 times. Tires lasted 30,000 miles and flats were common. God, I hate it when people disparage the auto industry.

  2. Think we should have gone to dropped eggs along time ago.

-I know I am supposed to forgive everyone, but does God expect me to just shrug off the leftists “Christians” who keep trying to shoehorn gay marriage or abortion or pre martial sex into the bible? You want to do it fine take responsibility but stop trying to pretend its in the bible when you know dang well it isn’t. Oh well leftists pull this crap with the constitution also. Things say whatever I want them to say and I know because I never read them.

-As great as this newfound momentum feels for the right, dont overestimate. People are fickle and quickly divided. Obama was literally king of the world 2 years ago then he gave his people what they said they wanted and now they are turning against him. (only married men understand how this works) My point is its time to start planning for the 2012 congressional elections. I dont want to imagine the crap Obama would have to pull between now and 2012 to keep the right this riled up and organized. With this obviously impending post election vacuum I point to a possible plan by John Hawkins.

  3. My favorite quotes from others

-Fear, defensiveness, and moral weakness in the people are the best friends of the tyrant.

-Discworld- quote: Death: “THERE ARE BETTER THINGS IN THE WORLD THAN ALCOHOL, ALBERT”
Albert: “Oh, yes, sir. But alcohol sort of compensates for not getting them.”

-This is a radical turnaround from the last two years when this trio regarded Obama as a Moses type figure who could lead the Socialists to prominence in America and neutralize America’s Super Power status while promoting the idea of racial harmony through racial strife. He was the perfect politician, he had huge resources of questionable campaign funds and a speaking voice that wooed American voters by the millions.

Now that his inept and corrupt Chicago Machine style leadership is being exposed as the worst presidency in the last 150 years, not even his most loyal sycophants can continue to carry on the charade.

-Mark Steyn tells a tale of two bridges:
A few weeks back I mentioned a couple of bridges in a neighboring town of mine, both on dirt roads serving maybe a dozen houses. Bridge A: The town was prevailed upon to apply for some state/town 80/20 funding plan, which morphed under the stimulus into some fed/state 60/40 funding plan. Current estimated cost: $655,000. The town’s on the hook for 20 per cent of the state’s 40 per cent — or $52,400. There’s no estimated year of completion, or even of commencement, and the temporary bridge the town threw up has worn out. Bridge B: Following their experience with Bridge A, the town replaced this one themselves, in a matter of weeks. Total cost: $30,000.

Government is simple provided two conditions are met: You do it locally, and you do it without unions.

-Every “utopia” starts by killing or jailing everyone that doesn’t believe in utopia. It’s like Never Never Land. Everyone must believe, or the spell is be broken.

-“Surely something must be terribly wrong with a man who seems to be far more concerned with Jews building houses in Israel than with Muslims building a nuclear bomb in Iran.”

-A reporter once asked Albert Einstein to explain his Theory of Relativity in simple words the average layman could understand. Einstein replied that according to Newtons physics, if all matter and energy disappeared, time and space would still exist, but according to Relativity, if matter and energy didn’t exist, time and space wouldn’t exist either.

-The US is weighed down by regulations, lawsuits, taxes, an entitlement mentality, grievance politics, corruption, crony capitalism, distorted economics caused by farm, home and education subsidies, a malignant national news media, and by a large population of adults who never grew up. And many of the rest of us contribute to the problem by tolerating all of this.

  4. What’s funny or disturbing or scary, Comrade Ivanovich, is that few would mock the auto industry if not for liberals and their good intentions.

I am not impressed by many tweets. So many people just phone them in.

They use the same phone for calling the guy who left “Call [number] for hot [censored For The Children]” messages on the walls of the restroom stalls at my local Wal-Marts, Lowes, and Home Depots.

  5. Ivan Ivanovich – what? I was comparing the 70’s Detroit car production to the beautiful event of welcoming a new life into the world. Far be it from me to disparage the auto industry (cough) Chevette (cough).

  6. Yea, that’s what we need! A Software Engineer designing the whole giving life process! So what happens when you do your usual job of “testing” and you put your code into Production and the whole process “blows chunks” (technical term). Then what are you going to do Mr. Smarty Pants? Of course you will blame it on the hardware or OS but we will all know what really happened! And how do we back it out at that point…oh yea…abortion! Then I think the Lord shall send Fred Thompson to do some Super Smoting on your posterior…

  7. Jimmah is onto something. I’d say the outcome would depend heavily on type of software design methodology:

Waterfall: Not a good idea. Long requirement gathering phases would lead to 24 month pregnancies before actual birth.

RAD: Scary. Building babies on the fly until they look right.

Object Oriented: Right out. Two words: Reusable Babies.

Extreme: Very promising. Would requiring getting a woman pregnant every day or so until the team gets it right.

  8. “While I admire the pregnancy/birthing process as a cleverly patched together system, as an engineer, I still recommend a complete redesign. Obviously it works, or the human race would have ceased to exist, but it will never have good reliability unless the design is started over.”

I quite like the manufacturing process. Please don’t redesign.
