Liberals: We Can Has Brainz?

Springeraz [High Praise!] actually sent me this *before* Frank did his post on the topic, but I got distracted by a shiny object so I didn’t get around to posting it until now. My fault. Still, his take on it is different enough that you’ll enjoy this, too:
_______________

Ok, so we got Rep Hank Johnson (D), Ga: “If we send more to troops to Guam, the island might tip over and capsize”

We got Nancy Pelosi: “we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy”

We got Joe Biden: “just walk out on the balcony, fire a couple blasts outside the house”

And we got our First Lady, Michelle: “for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country”

And don’t forget Diane Feinstein, (in a masterpiece of irony): “the criteria for serving one’s country should be competence”

It’s as if these people are all in some kind of contest to see who can insult people’s intelligence the most. The list could go on forever.

Now here comes Diana Degette, (D)CO, erstwhile public servant, who makes the following unbelievable observation about large capacity magazines. Something like… “Guess if we want to get rid of large capacity magazines we should ban them first, then “shoot all the bullets”, then we can find out what’s in them”. Or something.

  1. “the criteria for serving one’s country should be competence” isn’t even proper English. “Criteria” is plural; the singular is “criterion”. Remember that when your elders tell you how much higher the standards were in their day (Feinstein is Stanford ’56).

  2. Hey, Guess What? Another day, another misinformed Democrat trying to legislate guns!

Robin Kelly: Conceal and Carry Failed in Aurora Shooting’s Gun-Free Theater
    Breitbart – Big Government | 4-5-2013 | Rebel Pundit

A Democrat running for Jesse Jackson Jr.’s seat in Congress attacked the idea of concealed-carry firearms by citing the victims of the Aurora theater shooting, who could not defend themselves in a gun-free zone.

Robin Kelly, candidate in the IL-02 congressional election, claimed Thursday evening that victims of 2012’s Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting failed to “pull out their guns to kill the gentleman that did all the damage that he did.”

Kelly, who faces Republican Paul McKinley in the April special election to replace Jackson, was speaking at her own one-person candidate forum, which she had convened rather than attend an NAACP-sponsored candidate debate with her opponent. Kelly made the controversial statement while arguing against conceal and carry rights for the residents of her district and the state of Illinois.

She told the audience, “in the movie [theater], they have conceal and carry, but nobody pulled out their guns to kill the gentleman that did all the damage that he did.” [emphasis added]

However, the Cinemark theater where the shooting took place was the only one within 20 minutes of suspect James Holmes’ apartment that had a policy banning guns from the premise. Victims and their families are preparing a lawsuit targeting Cinemark for allegedly failing to provide security for its patrons the night of the shooting.

  3. Yesterday, I happened upon a discussion in the grocery store about protecting school kids. A local Liberal tree-hugger was exclaiming that no one needs an AK-47, particularly in a school. The 20 second conversation went like this:

“Are you trusting your school teachers and principal with your child’s life?

    “Yes”

“If someone attacked your school with an AK-47, would you trust them to defend your children with an AK-47?”

    “No.”

“Then you’re not trusting your school with your child’s life.”

    The tree-hugger turned beet red.

  4. Doug: wailing, gnashing of teeth, half the people in the country desperately trying to reason with people who aren’t capable of rational thought; millions of dollars, millions of written words, millions of man-hours spent by people trying to get a handle on the stupidity of liberals, and you nailed it perfectly with just 8 words.

  5. Harvey, you should post the other clip from this same forum, where a citizen asks her about home defense weapons and her reply was “You don’t need guns, you can call the police. But you’ll probably be dead before they arrive”.

  6. Since we can’t get a new brain after we use up all of the rational thoughts, we can only hope to get elected to an office where we can just blurt out inane ones and at least get credit for recycling stupidity in an effort to save the planet.
