I was impressed with the glorious impracticality of the video.
Falconing wasn’t good enough for them, paragliding wasn’t good enough for them, no, they had to combine the two, and then video it!
@4of7…..Hey 4of7…In your entire life have you ever done anything just to see if you could, because you could? I think the best part of it is that, at least when they made this video, there wasn’t anybody standing around telling them they couldn’t. It’s called Freedom dude, and as long as you’re not hurting anybody, or doing it with someone else’s money, it’s something to celebrate. But don’t worry, Obama has a plan to fix all that. You’re really The Church Lady, right?

you misunderstood me.
I liked the video.
I thought it was awesome the way the bird could be trained to come to the hand of its trainer, even when that trainer was flying through the air in a contraption the bird couldn’t understand in a million years.
I thought those videos of the guy who trained a flock of Canadian geese to follow his ultra light plane were awesome too, but these guys one-upped that by training a bird much more independent than a goose, and flying a device much more dependent on random wind currents to stay aloft.
That’s what I meant by glorious impracticality.
As to your question,

the answer is yes, but I can’t talk about it because of some pesky “statute of limitations” nonsense.

@ 4of7 It’s all good…I’m sorry I bit your head off like that. When I first saw that video the thing that struck me was the overwhelming contrast between the freedom the bird represented and that picture of a bunch of turkeys confined in a pen. To me it seemed like a perfect metaphor that expressed what’s happening in the country, and what we’re losing thanks to our pals on the left. Being able to express that successfully in a blog, I’m discovering, is an art all to itself, and I understand that if it doesn’t come across, it isn’t the readers fault….well, maybe sometimes it is, but mostly it’s about my ‘new guy’ skill at communicating my feelings about these things clearly with this medium. Your feedback means something here, I can learn stuff from it. And yeah, the Statute of Limitations thing. Me too. Just remember, the Statute is your friend, be nice to it.
