1. If it wasn’t so hot the wonks wouldn’t want to adjust the data to make it seem more so. Or is that contradictory?

2. Quantum computer that ‘computes without running’ sets efficiency record

   This came out so many months ago, I can’t for the life of me remember if I posted it before:

   National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists have found a solution to the 15-year “pause” in global warming: They “adjusted” the hiatus in warming out of the temperature record.

   New climate data by NOAA scientists doubles the warming trend since the late 1990s by adjusting pre-hiatus temperatures downward and inflating temperatures in more recent years.

   “Newly corrected and updated global surface temperature data from NOAA’s [National Centers for Environmental Information] do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus,’” wrote NOAA scientists in their study presenting newly adjusted climate data.

   Pffft. At least they did beat the egghead physicists to one discovery: counterfactual computation:

   Due to quantum effects, it’s possible to build a quantum computer that computes without running –or as the scientists explain, “the result of a computation may be learned without actually running the computer.”

   So far, however, the efficiency of this process, which is called counterfactual computation (CFC), has had an upper limit of 50%, limiting its practical applications.

   Now in a new paper, scientists have experimentally demonstrated a slightly different version called a “generalized CFC” that has an efficiency of 85% with the potential to reach 100%. /blockquote cite=””>

3. Such as….? You’d think he could give at least one example. Then again, this kind of propaganda isn’t aimed at people who would ask that.
