But Why Is Tuition So Expensive?

Northwestern University offers students a “deconstructing whiteness” program described as a “6-part workshop series for undergraduate students who self-identify as white”.

Huh. No class on “useless classes to teach for professors who self-identify as safely tenured”?

  1. …And they wonder why, after graduation, they can’t get a job at the local Burger King with their useless degrees, but are still expected to pay back the $100,000.00 they’ve racked up in student loans.

“. . . the “Primal Scream” tradition occurs at 9 pm on the night before finals week, when students take a break from studying to scream as loud as they can.”

[Would this be right around the time they get their bills? Playing around with scissors, glue, and deconstruction papers doesn’t seem like so much fun after all, when they see how much debt they’ve incurred for it, does it?]

“The school also hosts ‘Armadillo Day’ . . . ”

Now THAT’s diversity sensitivity in action!

  3. Since it says “workshop,” I’m thinking (and hoping) that this is one of those sideline things that you can do instead of taking pottery or massage therapy classes–i.e., not for credit, just for “enrichment.”

(Didn’t say it wasn’t pointless or worse; just that you might not be paying tuition money for it.)

(And twice as many graduate students–apparently–as undergraduates; that’s a little bit weird. And a faculty to student ratio of 1:7. Break that down into graduate / undergraduate for me please.)
