human activity is certainly going to have some kind of effect on the planet. How much, and whether it’s harmful or not, they don’t know, or care, It’s only a convenient excuse because it’s so easy to fool people with. The point is to control your life. If people get smart enough on this again, they’ll just find something else to say is all our fault and try again. People get dumber each time, sooner or later they’ll succeed. Just like “gun control”. That’s going to be the real end of America.
I once read an interesting analysis on the topic, I think at junk science.com. Went something like this: “greenhouse” gases don’t work like a greenhouse, which warms by stopping convection cooling. They absorb certain frequencies of infra red light, which warms the atmosphere. What would the average annual global temperature be if not for this? 0 degrees (F). What is it in actuality? 58 degrees (F). Of those 58 degrees (F) that the planet is warmed by the “green house” effect, how much is attributable to man? 0.28 degrees (F). Yeah, big snooze alert there.
CO2 is not the problem everyone in the alarmist camp claim it is because the #1 greenhouse gas is water vapor, and it already absorbs 100% of the infra red available in it’s spectrum. CO2’s effect is 92% masked by water vapor, and because of this, all the doom and gloomers who think that CO2 will have a massive positive feedback effect are wrong. And they know it. What 97% agree on is that as long as they can keep up the hysteria, they can keep the grant money flowing. APGW is the biggest scam so far in human history, and people like Michael Mann (inventor of the “hockey stick” graph; – global warming is “Mann made”) deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison for it.
