French President Francois Hollande said that the Paris climate agreement was “irreversible” and “unstoppable”.
Oh? I remember when the French had a pretty high opinion of the Maginot Line, too.

Hee. Google Translate (TM) translates the title, which I am pretty sure was meant to be “cheese-eating surrender monkeys,” as “Monkeys Capitulators Cheese Shops.” Eh, close enough.
.. and the Treaty of Versailles and the Munich Agreement. Maybe they should lodge a complaint in the League of Nations. Oh —
Anyway, speaking of things that warmists believe to be irreversible and unstoppable:
Global Warming Hiatus ‘May NOT End Soon’ – UK Met Office
The Register | 9/14/15 | Lewis Page
“Climate-change followers will know there hasn’t been any global warming since around the turn of the century. Observers had been expecting that to change, perhaps from this year, but now a fresh report from the British weather bureau suggests it may be business as no-warming usual for a while yet.
…
“The current warm phase is now 20 years long and historical precedent suggests a return to relatively cool conditions could occur within a few years …
“The Met Office doesn’t care for phrases such as “hiatus” or even “pause” to describe the absence of global warming for the last fifteen years or so: it describes the flat temperatures as a “slowdown”.
…
“Meanwhile, it appears quite possible that 2015 will be a record warm year globally – though not in Europe or America. However, as NASA climate chief Gavin Schmidt pointed out in 2013, “one more year of numbers isn’t in itself significant”.
“Just as it took quite a few years before the hiatus could be said to be ongoing, it will require several years of climbing temperatures before it can be said to be over.”
SO the agreement is sort of like global warming itself. I’m sure they can also find 97% of politicians to guarantee it.

Did the NOAA Cook the Books to Show Warming During Hiatus?
P.J. Media | 1-29-16 | Rick Moran
“One of the least reliable sources for data on climate change is the U.S. federal government. Now, a group of 300 scientists and academics want Congress to investigate the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for cooking the books on climate data in order to erase the pause in the rise in temperature cited by, among other sources, the IPCC.
“Incredibly, the NOAA accumulated data by measuring the water temperature from the engine intake valves of oceangoing cargo ships.”
“The scientists want Congress to investigate whether the agency violated the Data Quality Act, which seeks to ensure the accurate dissemination of scientific information to the public.
“Daily Caller:
“Of the 300 letter signers, 150 had doctorates in a related field. Signers also included: 25 climate or atmospheric scientists, 23 geologists, 18 meteorologists, 51 engineers, 74 physicists, 20 chemists and 12 economists. Additionally, one signer was a Nobel Prize winning physicist and two were astronauts.
“NOAA scientists upwardly adjusted temperature readings taken from the engine intakes of ships to eliminate the “hiatus” in global warming from the temperature record.
“…The only question is who at NOAA was behind the attempt to whitewash the temperature hiatus and whose orders they were acting under.
“There is yet to be a credible scientific explanation for the lack of rising temperatures despite models saying there should have been close to a one-degree increase over the last 17 years. NOAA’s attempt to create an explanation out of whole cloth only shows the desperation of climate hysterics who are vigorously denying the facts in front of their face.”
Observers had been
expecting that toreally really hoping that would change or the whole scam might collapse.I’d rather have a German division in front of me, than a French one behind. – George S. Patton (probably apocryphal, but nonetheless appropriate here)
Global Climate Change, been happening for 4.5 billion years. It’s not going to stop for several more billion. Deal with it!
No problem, the French know ice is caused by global warming, or climate change as it is now called. You see, as the globe warms it causes ice to melt putting cold water into the Gulf Stream which in turn flows north causing the air in the Arctic to get colder thus forming more ice in the Arctic. Thus the increase in ice in the Arctic is a definite and clear warning sign of global warming caused by man made climate change. So as you can plainly see as the Arctic gets colder it’s really getting warmer. It’s all probably too scientific an stuff for the average bonehead non-scientist to understand but don’t worry French climate change scientists have it all under control…or will if they can just get a few more million dollars in grants from their government.
