At three, I started Hebrew school. At ten, I learned a trade.

Every Christmas I buy four exquisite but different tree ornaments and put them in the same sized box and wrap them all the same. Then I let my mom and three sisters blindly pick one. They open them together.

Well…that’s different.
We never speak to one another in my family of origin, and that’s a tradition I’ve enjoyed for well over a decade now.
Ah, bliss.
My favorite family tradition is living at least a thousand miles from every living member of my immediate family, except for my youngest brother, who is a decent person.
