Old songs are the best.
Yes, I know I shared the original version of this song last week. But Benny Goodman’s version is great. Of course, that’s Gene Krupa on drums. He was Goodman’s drummer before he left to start his own band. I found some videos of the band, with Krumpa and without, performing, but the sound wasn’t up to snuff. I may put together a collection of videos of the band performing, but with this audio recording. But then, a DMCA takedown notice would be filed, and there’s all that. So, unless and until I find a better video with good sound, this is what we have.

“People can do that?”
There’s a nice rendition of that song in “After the Thin Man” (1936). Probably just a partial rendition, I forget.
I know I’ve seen that years ago, but don’t have it in my movie library. I need to add the rest of “The Thin Man” series to my collection.
Yes. About 10 minutes in, when Nick & Nora get to the surprise party (“apparently we’re giving it”), a girl at a piano is singing it. It’s mostly background for a series of gags, although the singer does get a closeup for about 10 seconds.
William Clark, who, together with Meriwether Lewis, explored the recently-acquired Louisiana Territory for the US government, was born August 1, 1770, in Ladysmith, Virginia, which, today, is just west of Interstate 95, a ways north of Richmond (it might be somewhere different tomorrow).
Best swing song ever.
