Your mission: answer the question in the comments with a good story.

If you don’t have a good story, you are encouraged to make one up.

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

I’d be the guy who takes the PeTA people protesting our elephants and shoots them out of a cannon.

Don’t worry. They’ll land on something soft. Near the back of the elephant.

  1. I’d replace the big paper ring that the clowns bust through with a steel one.

Then I’d lead the knife-thrower’s or trick-shooter’s assistant, the lovely Miss Evangeline, into the center ring by her white-gloved hand and remove her cape for her.

Then I’d go backstage and replace the clowns’ pistols that have the little “Bang” flag with real ones, and put a real powerful gunpowder charge in the cannon.

  2. A rope aerialist who also juggles.

Because when I did train and work with the circus, that’s what I did. Also handled the follow spot.

I still juggle pretty well, but like most aerialists I had to quit that when I had too many injuries, one of which I just had surgically repaired a few weeks ago. It’s not all done with mirrors, you know.
