1. He did not exploit one possible comedic opportunity: i.e., telling the boss that he is expecting to be paid his usual salary for this week-long vacation away from work.

   But he compensated by making another comedic opportunity doubly funny:

   “We have ze baguette. I don’t know what the **** to tell you.”

   I laugh every time I think of that line.
