    • I read Snow Crash on a Boy Scout sailing trip in the Florida Keys in 1992. I remember liking everything except when the young girl character (who’s name I forget) hooked up with the bad guy (who’s name I forget).

  1. Well, here’s an idea for a future Walrus post:

    Simply post a similar snapshot of a similar number of books (not encyclopedias/ae), and ask viewers if they have any memories or comments on the authors, or on the books. Or cats.

    Truthfully, I always figured it was a lame attempt to capitalize on Lovecraft so I never even tried it. I actually had an argument with a guy about that book, he thought it was the one Lovecraft wrote about.

    That’s also a new Niven book I don’t have, A Gift From Earth. I’m gonna have to get that.
