I read up on OPPOssums once. Very impressive animals, take them for all in all. Intelligent, adaptive, clever, and even smart enough to be marsupials, with an OPPOsable thumb, I think. Wait — that might be a raccoon. But they’re both highly prone to ending up flat on a highway. This, of course, diminished my respect for either of them, as I can’t think of anyone else I admire ending up that way. I mean, who doesn’t hear a Semi coming?

They eat roughly 5,000 ticks a year, which makes them A-okay in my book.
