The number, damage and deadliness of individual tornadoes has held roughly steady over the past 50 years, federal experts with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration told The Hill.
But broad shifts in the patterns of how tornadoes occur will pose serious challenges to policymakers and emergency managers across the South and Midwest — even as risks remain in the traditional heart of Tornado Alley.
On re-reading the article, I’m not sure what it’s trying to say.
More frequent / roughly steady.
It’s saying climate change is causing more outbreaks and ALL fly-over states are in danger. We’re not just in Kansas anymore buddy.

It’s saying that increase of population means severe storms have more targets.
Its saying we know things are pretty much the same as it has been for 50 years but we still need to scare people into giving up their cars and eating the bugs.
I keep as much distance between myself and Dorothy Gale as possible, just to be safe.
Subtle, subtle, but not obscure.
Just don’t bring those other monkeys into it.
All it means is that they’ve learned how to create and manage them.
The real problem is the proliferation of cameras.
