If you don’t have a good story, you are encouraged to make one up.
What is your real favorite movie, and what movie do you pretend is your favorite to sound cultured?
The Princess Bride, and Un Chein Andalou – a “film” which has only been viewed by the most pretentious of arthouse socialists wearing ironic berets.
Ironically, what I wear while watching The Princess Bride.

Real favorite movie: “L.A. Tool and Die.” Movie I say is my favorite to sound cultured: “El Paso Wrecking Corp.”
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
“Un Chien Andalou” — They made us watch that in film class! To what end, I don’t know, other than cocktail-party bragging rights. Without giving anything away, you can always tell who is seeing it for the first time.
“What is your real favorite movie”
2001: A Space Odyssey

Moon Nukers don’t pretend.
I just love “The Fifth Element”, for some reason I can’t put my finger on…
I admire the artistry, musical score, and story arc of “On The Waterfront”.
Young Frankenstein – favorite
Magnolia and/or Avatar – pretentious
Favorite movie: The Wild Bunch. Movie I say is my favorite to sound cultured: Blazing Saddles.

I watch A Fistful of Dollars at least once a year and love it. Is that a pretentious pick? Maybe The Godfather, that could possibly fall into both categories.
The Big Lebowski
Burn After Reading
Dr. Strangelove or how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb
Zulu, for the diversity
