  1. I think, when you hyphenate “pop-up” (e.g., “don’t be surprised if more pop-up”) it becomes a noun, instead of a transitive verb (or whatever).
    “Did you see Joe Schmoe pop up in the bottom of the ninth?”
    “Oh, right. Joe Biddlefisk caught the pop-up to retire the side and win the game.”
