Anyone know a way of hunting down the trolls we’ve been getting lately? I’m just really curious to find out who these people are. I assume they’re either kids in high school or college to have the time to constantly scan blogs for key words and frantically write desperate posts based on crap they just read from some other idiot’s diary on the Daily Kos. Still, I want to ask them what exactly is it they hope to accomplish? Or have they even thought things out that far? And why those talking points? Do they really have sub-70 point IQs and believe all that, or are they so scared of Palin that they just want to throw out anything they can think of.
Eh, they’re probably just crazy angry little monkeys and not worth too much thought. Anyway, here’s what Keith Olbermann says on what motivates him to go blog to blog and write idiotic comments:
Poor guy. I hear MSNBC is dropping him from the anchor chair.

I am a conservative but I cannot agree with MacCains choice for VP. I belive that any conservative VP pick needs to have experience which clearly Sara Paulin does not have. Also she was a big pork queen as lieutenant govener and was in the pocket of Big Oil and a separatist movement in Alaska.
As a lifelong convervative I am afraid that I might support Barack Obama because he is the only candidate that is actually pushing conservative values this election. But that’s just one conservative’s opinion.
A concerned conservative.
Can you capture their IP’s?
Personally I like trolls. They can tell us so much. Like calling Palin stupid for taking 6 years to get a degree. Nothing like telling the 75% of American without a degree what you really think of them. Thank you
As for the six schools, I’m on my third because leftist teachers (English professors!) kept failing me for having a opinion different than the liberal line. This is for an Engineering degree. Fortunately engineers tend to be rational and I’m away from the ultra Left Liberal Arts School. Journalism is in the belly of the beast.
Let’s nuke San Francisco, just to be safe.
I wish I had the time but what would really be funny would be to go to lefty sites and post every concern we have about Barry but use Saracudda’s name…
“Sarah Palin has close ties with a mob figure in Alaska and reportedly received a sweetheart deal on her double-wide trailer courtesy of said mobster.”
“For 20 years Sarah Palin attended a church that celebrates the murder of a community organizer. When called on it, she stated that she never heard anything like that!”
“Sarah Palin has a half-sister that lives in Akiak, Alaska on only $25 a year.”
“She was actually born in Canada.”
Frank, I needed that Olbermonkey piece to start my week out right!
And #1, I think you’re a concerned imposter. The words ‘conservative’ and ‘Obama’ are mutually exclusive, especially to an actual ‘conservative.’ Find another site to bait your hook and go trolling.
“Blog Fishing For Obama” would be a good title for a piece.
Don’t liberals like Canada though? I mean, it’s somewhere other than the US…
Anyone know a way of hunting down the mongols writing rightwing blogs? I assume they’re either kids in high school or college to have the time to constantly scan blogs for key words and frantically write desperate posts based on crap they just read from some other idiot’s blog.
Still, I want to ask them what exactly is it they hope to accomplish? Or have they even thought things out that far? And why those talking points? Do they really have sub-70 point IQs and believe all that, or are they so scared of Obama that they just want to throw out anything they can think of.
<whisper>Psssst…Jimmy. It was me trying to parody a troll. I guess it’s a sad comment on their IQ that no matter how off the wall I tried to be, it still looked like something they’d post.</whisper>
Hey!!! kitty can do “cut and paste”
Next is learning not to eat paste and staying in the lines when coloring.
Anyone in for a blowjow from a pitbull with lipstick nicked barracuda?
[Remember what Yoda said about anger. -Ed.]
Not really ip’s will only give you their ISP in the end though you can see if it is a college or something.
FormerHostage, I was thinking of saying that there seems to be a new set of troll tactics: announce yourself as one of the blog group, come off sounding nice and low-key and then slip in the objection that leads to supporting Obama. You did a masterful job of that.
But now that I think about it, KOS fishers aren’t capable of slipping in edgewise. They’re just not smart enough. Which means they suck at writing convincing stories.
Is that “kitty” as in “pussy?”
blowjow? Gee, it must be really hard to type with only one hand huh?
Frank, I think kitty is neither a kid in high school or college but one of those metrosexual trolls who try to bully in comments sections because they can spout whatever they want (even the unoriginal stuff) without fear of getting their a$$ kicked.
The trolls check in; they don’t check out. I think I’ll try my hand at this masquerade sometime today. I wonder if anyone will spot me?
I think kitty was choking on her (his) rage-spittle, which explains the odd phrases.
“i can haz incohernint rage??!!11!?”
Frank J,
Please don’t chase away the trolls. It’s fun to see how their little minds try to think and form thoughts.
I thoroughly enjoy reading them try to make the case for higher taxes, killing babies, more government intrusion in everyone’s life (including when you want to see a doctor) and disarming our military to attempt to negotiate with irrational warmongers from a position of weakness (it worked so well the first time with Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter).
Oh, and could they be more obsessed with the possibility of making babies with her teenage daughter?
Let them rant, it’s incredibly hilarious…especially when they missed nap time and they’re a little cranky.
You can generally measure the amount of liberal terror by how much they check out and criticize what we are doing on our blogs. Guess Sarah must really have ’em terrified.
Keep it up, everybody! Their heads are about to explode! Fun!!!
(P.S. their heads are filled with marshmallowey sprinkled deliciousness)
I’d start by backtracking the IP’s of the trolls. If they are originating from a college or the like, those institutions often do stupid things like using an individual’s username as part of the dynamic address. Also try a traceroute on the IP’s, just for kicks – it might point out some of those said institutions.
And if you do identify any particular person, between facebook, myspace, and google searches, you can find tons of info about the chump.
Maybe someone over at WE got wise to your special ops. Of course, as has been noted, the trolls’ attempts are pathetic when compared to actual concerned fake liberals’ writings.
So, keep up the good work!
“I am afraid that I might support Barack Obama because he is the only candidate that is actually pushing conservative values this election.”
hmm I didnt realize Communism, massive tax increases and unrestricted murder of unborn, and in some cases born despite the best efforts of “Dr.s”, were conservative values.
I’m with Son of Bob – keep the trolls. I get some of my best insults from IMAO regulars’ troll responses.
Heck – I’ll even help them out…
Hints for IMAO Trolls:
1) No one pays any attention to statements that are supposed to give you conservative cred – statements like “I’ve been a lifelong republican”, “I voted for Nixon”, and “Hoover was robbed!”
2) The regulars here know each other – so new people are judged by the positions they espouse. Don’t bother claiming you are something you are not – better than you have tried and no one will fall for it.
3) If you want to disagree with people here make it rational and amusing if you want any respect. Statements like “McCain is so stupid” does not pass for wit. We’ll probably just respond with something smart and cutting like “So’s your sister!”
4) This is a conservative humor site. There is nothing we enjoy more than ridiculing leftist morons like you. The more you hate us the funnier it is and the more we will all enjoy belittling your intelligence, your decorum, and your penis (as if it could possibly be littler).
“I hear MSNBC is dropping him from the anchor chair.”
Not true. He wasn’t dropped from the chair. He fell out of it. Forgot to fasten his seatbelt.
Trolls are compliments. Their presence indicates their fear. Have you considered that the trolls might be Matthews and Olbermann, now that they have more time on their hands?
DamnCat, they’re not listening. It was worth a shot, but it’s just not going to work.
http://michaelpalinforpresident.com/
Joseph – I know you are right – I was just hoping against hope we could help the trolls improve themselves a bit.
But what can one reasonably expect from a troll but more trollishness?
Heh heh heh. Kitty is so cool. He/She/It can cut and paste and everything. And the way you can copy our own words and, just by changing a tiny bit, make it mean somehting else is so hilarious! It makes me want to laugh out loud. How do you find the time to be so funny?
And the “lipstick-on-a-Pit-Bull” thing you guys do is really helping show that Obama is a better POTUS. I mean, it’s a great way to reach out to a vital demographic this campaign cycle.
Have you missed any medication lately?
I am saddened to see you referring to these uneducated, quarter-witted, racist, sexist dumbasses as “trolls”. I may live under a bridge, never bathe, and extort money from people to cross my bridge, but I certainly do not deserve to be compared to those miscreants!
Comrad Kitty, Did you see Comrad O’Bama on O’Lielys show? What in the hell is that thing growing on his face? Could it be his Pinocchio gland is misplaced by the air rushing thru those airfoil ears?
Peace out,
Frank the Red
(who is now a good commie – he’s dead)
The trolls around here lately make Scary Evil Monkey look thoughtful, respectful, and decent.
He probably smells better, too.
I love how commenter #1 is one of the trolls you just mentioned.
Wasn’t there a TV show or movie or something (I’m not sure if I can be more vague) that was about people being brainwashed by watching certain shows on TV?? I’m wondering because it seems that liberals have become more active and incoherent since the DNC. We have a regular commenter on the local newspaper’s blog and before the DNC, she used to be somewhat rational despite her flawed views. During the DNC and since, she has lost all use of grammar, punctuation and coherency – like she has completely de-evolved. I just imagine her sitting at her computer – raving madly and frothing at the mouth.
Judging from the number of crazed trolls we are seeing around here, I don’t think she is alone. Somehow the combination of the DNC and the announcement of Sarah Palin as VP nominee has completely pushed them over the edge. I will admit that they do frighten me a little. It’s almost like they are the inspiration for the concept of the rage virus in 28 Days Later.
DamnCat, I understand and respect your desire to educate manking; Lord knows I had to do it in one of my infrequent letters to the editor today. However, I’m scared all I’m really doing there is feeding the trolls, albeit in print form.
You know what they say: “Trolls will be trolls.”
If the church Palin belongs to would be a mosque it would be closed for incitement:
http://wasillabible.org/sermons.htm
The preachers could have been Osama Bin Laden himself. Finally we know where he is hiding.
[That was almost coherent! Good job! -Ed.]
Great now they’ll (Olberman and Matthews) will have even more time on their hands. They’ll be on this blog night and day. I guess I need to sharpen my keyboard. “Hang on folks ’tis liable to be a bumpy ride.”
Not that you haven’t guessed, but if you guys want to know what’s going on:
http://minx.cc/?post=272887
Still, I am in favor of keeping some of them around…
As far as ubermonkee is concerned , It would be better if they just dropped an anchor ON the chair(whilst he inhabit it)!
Do the world a favor Olberman ……DIE
(peacefully in your sleep would be okay)
Harvey: Why not redirect project WEsistance to the dailey kos? (Would that make the targets “kostards”?)
On the other hand, why do kos a favor? Judging by the low quality of the recent troll traffic here, you’d be doing the dailey kos a favor.
Harvey, so are you really the flying spaceduckJ ?
As for the trolls, I’ll bet it sucks going through life smelling like ass…

Palin is stupid. Jimmy why did you post that twice?
5 of 8 your rooms ready, they added extra padding this time. Maybe you won’t hurt your head so badly this time.
I disavow all knowledge of or connection to 5 of 8.
I don’t even know what that comment was supposed to mean.
22 countries in a BBC World Service poll would prefer Democratic nominee Barack Obama elected US president instead of his Republican rival John McCain. Obama is preferred by a four to one margin on average across the 22,000 people polled.
But then, a significant number of those non-Americans also think that Israel was behind the 9/11 attacks.

The Gulf of Tonkin Incident is the name given to two separate incidents involving naval forces of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) and the United States in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. On 2 August 1964, the destroyer USS Maddox (DD-731) engaged three North Vietnamese P-4 torpedo boats, resulting damage to the three boats. Two days later the Maddox (having been joined by the destroyer C. Turner Joy (DD-951) reported a second engagement with North Vietnamese vessels. This second, however, later discovered to be in error.[1] Together, these two incidents prompted the first large-scale involvement of U.S. armed forces in Southeast Asia.
The outcome of the incidents was the passage by Congress of the Southeast Asia Resolution (better known as the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution), which granted President Lyndon B. Johnson the authority to assist any Southeast Asian country whose government was considered to be jeopardized by “communist aggression,” including the commitment of U.S. forces without a declaration of war. The resolution served as Johnson’s legal justification for escalating American involvement in the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam).
In 2005, an official NSA declassified report revealed that the Maddox had engaged the North Vietnamese, but that there may not have been any North Vietnamese vessels present during the “engagement of 4 August.
