IMAO regular reader and commenter Iowa Jim made an observation the other day. With all the coverage of Anthony Weiner and his face (and other parts) in the news, he thought the Congresscritter looked … like a Congresscritter:
I noticed that Anthony Weiner, in some photographs, bears an amazing resemblance to ostriches, emus, and cassowaries.
He’s got a point:
Is he right?
And is Weiner the only critter-like critter in Congress? What other critters to other members of Congress look like?

Don’t know about congresscritters but Charles Krauthammer looks like a turtle.
Well there was that picture of BHO as baby monkey but that was raaacist, but the chimp photo of GWB wasn’t. Just went through the list and photos of the Senate at wikipedia. All of them look like a bunch of turkeys.
Barney Frank looks like an old, cranky hippo. Or a pile of hippo fertilizer.
Henry Waxman is more of a creature than a critter.
I don’t know, Basil, but I would like to see what those birds would do to Weiner. They’re nasty.
John Boehner looks like a poor, overmatched black bear. That’s not racist because he’s Republican.
I always thought it was Barney Frank who looked like a turtle. Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, looks like a tarsier when she smiles.
Anthony Weiner: All the looks of an ostrich, but half the intelligence, and only 1/3 the ability to handle a crisis.
I always thougth Sheila Jackson Lee resembles a lemur. But not as smart.
I always thought Waxman looked like the guy from Mos Eisley spaceport Link and Frank looked like his life-partner Link, deux.
Basil, help us out here – which one is Weiner?
Well, the beaks match, but the birds are incapable of the creepy, smirking leer that makes me want to boil my eyes in penicillin. (Shudder.)
Weiner is a lot like an ostrich, after all didn’t he stick his head in the sand and leave it there for a week, denying anything was wrong, and hoping the danger to him would pass?
Harry Reid looks a lot like Droopy. Well, actually he sounds and acts, more than looks, like Droopy…
