We have the Babesleaga set to resume shortly so I wanted to test the waters for a new contest. A head to head, single elimination tournament of the best song of all time. While that certainly takes in a lot of ground I want to work off the Rolling Stone’s list to start but if anyone suggest a better source or list I will listen to suggestions.
So here is a test contest. It is the 99 and 100 listed songs so wouldn’t be in the contest but go and vote so I can see if this something I might add to our regular postings.
Thanks.

Polling will close on Monday August 16th.

You misspelled “bilge.”
Who among us voted for Blige? I expect better of imaoians. I suggest a force move of Blige voters to California where they can never have bacon again.
Literally anything would be better than a Rolling Stone list. I bet even Creepy Uncle Joe could do a better job than they do, as long as someone was there to wipe up the drool before it made the page unreadable.
Paging former governor Cuomo.
Do you have a link to the list? (I found a list from 2003 that has Gnarles Barkley’s “Crazy” at 100 and CCR’s “Fortunate Son” at ninety nine, so there must be an update. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/500-greatest-songs-of-all-time-151127/gnarls-barkley-crazy-40673/) What numbers are you going thinking of using for the contest? Is there going to be a chance for any write in candidates if we think a song has been overlooked? Am I asking too many questions?
Yes. But thanks for doing so.
It’s not that Foreigner is better…it just sucks less.
I’ll take Sly Stone’s “Family Affair” over either of them.
Is there a “none of the above” option?
There will be no third option. One has to win and move on. Life is not fair.
