Actually the part about the organizing problem was just a clever cover story. What actually happened:
The community in Chicago that Obama started organizing was part of the fabled Eastern Suburbs. The community got so tired of Obama’s ineffectual organizing it tried to escape to Canada. Unfortunately, it sank to the bottom of Lake Michigan, pulling the rest of the Eastern Suburbs under along with it.
Obama tried to start organizing elsewhere, but the rest of Chicago told him to run for state government, because the entire state of Illinois can’t fit into Lake Michigan.
