Like I’ve said before: anything Obama says you just assume the opposite!
WHAT OBAMA SAID….
“we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles”
TRANSLATED INTO LiBERAL SPEAK THE ONE SAID……
“spend, tax, print more money tax some more, convert everyone to socialist and repeat.”
Obama givith and Obama taketh away……
I Am the Great and Powerful Oz!
BHO is like Wimpy from Popeye, except he says I’ll take a dollar from you tomorrow for some of your freedom today.
Liberal+Popular+Economic Crisis+Idiot in Charge+In debt to hostile foreign coutnry= End of the U.S.A as we know it.
But don’t worry no one will know until 2012. It is the year the world ends after all and now we know why.
Oh so stupid…..stupid like Barack!
lalalalalalalalalalala
Yeah stupid like Barackl!
So stupid……
Stupid like Barack!
Cry havoc and loose the dogs of war
You know, to be honest, making fun of Obama is all fun, but we have to make sure that we don’t lose sight of what’s important. My pastor made a good point: he said that Obama NEEDS our prayer, more than most presidents. And I’m inclined to agree. I love America and hate Obama’s agenda and views, but he is still our president.
So while making jokes about his head getting stuck in a bucket and posts like this are fine, some of the comments have been getting pretty extreme, like #7. Let’s keep in mind that he really does need our prayer and support* more than our insults.
* By support, I don’t mean sitting around as he institutes socialist policies, I mean show people what he is doing in a non-demeaning way. Please, guys, he’s the president of the country I love.
hey number 9 my comment was ment to be fun I can’t help it Obama is stupid….. I have seen and heard a lot more extreme and plain racist comments about the man and his family that are far worse than mine.
#9…. Im sure he gets all the luv and support he needs from his 52%…. as far as prayers….yeah I’ll pray for his socialist behind to get hit by a bus. The guy is actively and openly trying to KILL the country that you love… I will pray for my enemy to fail or perish
Obama is either as incompetent as the media’s version of Bush, or he’s doing it all on purpose (Google “cloward-piven” and “fabian socialism” for starters). The realistic prayer is to pray for God to protect us. The miraculous one is to pray for God to change him, which He can do if He wants.
We should also be seriously considering the possibility that Obama is God’s judgment on us.
I don’t, however, think we need to consider the possibility that Obama is on God’s side. If God endorses the guy who voted against the Born Alive act three times and then lied about it, I’m a Satanist.
I agree with 12 except on one point. Why the difference between realistic and miraculous. I may be young (24) but I’ve seen enough miracles in my time as a Christian (8 1/2 years) to not make a distinction between the two. If Paul can get saved and become a Christian it’s entirely possible for Obama to get born again.
Obama could say that the skies are green and the pastures are blue and the MSM and his drooling cult of supporters would still stand and applaud him. Remember: Check your basement regularly for pods.
I don’t care how stupid you think Obama is… He is president and you all are acting like a gaggle of democrats.
Just because he’s the president doesn’t mean he deserves respect. Yes, we are supposed to respect our leaders but the president is just a representative of the true ruler of this nation, the people, and this president got into the position through lies and deceit. He’s a modern day Nebuchadnezzar. Yes, we should pray for him because we are supposed to pray for our enemies. I often mock FDR, LBJ, and Carter because they were terrible presidents and Obama is like the twisted disgusting offspring of all three of them.
Cuz I’m a bitter clinger not willing to bow down to the golden image of Obama.
His teleprompter was across the room, so he left out a word when he read:
“we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely
consistent with( ENDING ) free-market principles”
Paul (formerly Saul) had lots of friends and supporters among the ruling elite of his day before he became a Christian.
Then they wanted to kill him.
During the campaign I saw the infatuation of the press and the celebritards for the O king and wondered what it would take, how many gaffs and blunders, or how many embarrassing revelations about the extreme company he kept it would it take to turn them against him.
Becoming a Born-Again, Pro-Life, Pro-Israel Christian would do it.
Jimmy Carter himself would cast the first stone.
Isaiah 41:24
“Behold, you are nothing, and your work is nought;
an abomination is he who chooses you.”
On the other hand, he could take the King Josi’ah route and beat them to the punch!
II Kings 23:4-25
“And the king commanded … bring out … burned … ashes … deposed … brought out … burned … beat it to dust … broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes … brought … defiled … broke down … and he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the sons of Hinnom, that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering to Molech … removed … burned … pulled down and broke in pieces … cast … defiled … broke … cut down … filled their places with the bones of men … pulled down … broke in pieces … crushing them to dust … burned … sent and took … burned … defiled …
Then he said, What is yonder monument that I see?” And the men of the city told him, “It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and predicted these things which you have done against the altar at Bethel.” And he said, “Let him be; let no man move his bones.”
… removed … slew … burned … returned … commanded …
“Keep the passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”
… this passover was kept … put away the mediums and the wizards and the teraphim and the idols and all the abominations … that he might establish the words of the law which were written in the book …
Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; nor did any like him arise after him.”
Now that’s worth praying for!
Rubeus,
We don’t currently have a president. A president swears to uphold and defend the Constitution. And, if The One did so I, for one, would show respect for him as a president, whether he was good or bad at the job.
However, what we have is an unprecedented and illegal socialist/communist overthrow of our system of government that Joe McCarthy predicted years ago (a prediction he was vilified for, incidentally). I can agree with you regarding the showing of respect for a president who is not necessarily skillful but acts within the limited powers granted to him in the Constitution, however, you cannot simply stand by and be respectful of tyranny. What you are seeing before you is an historic and unConstitutional takeover of the entire free market system.
And, frankly, the longer The One refuses to make the numerous lawsuits that question his legality to hold the office go away by simply showing his birth certificate – in much the same way that you were required to show your proper credentials before voting – the more it appears that there may be some genuine validity to the claim, and he may be a foreign born person who is fraudulently claiming the presidency.
Full disclosure – I’m an atheist.
As I understand Christianity, it should be more about the personal relationship you have with God, and less about others.
If I were to pray, I would not pray to God to influence Obama’s choices, because there are just as many people praying for the opposite. I don’t think God takes popularity polls to answer prayers. I think he only answers the ones that DON’T conflict with the sincere requests of others.
I would pray for the strength to bear up under the hard times that Obama’s choices will bring to us all. They will bring us sadness, they will bring us despair, and we need divine assistance to not be crushed under the burden.
I would also pray for wisdom, to make the right choices to best provide for myself and my loved ones during these confusing and troubled times. Do we fight socialism? Do we just try to maintain a low profile so the government will leave us alone? These are difficult questions, and it wouldn’t hurt to have some help in weighing the pros & cons of our alternatives.
I wouldn’t waste my prayers on Obama. He is stiff-necked and proud, and unlikely to listen to the still, small voice that God uses to speak to man.
Your Christian duty as an American is to make sure that the same can not be said of you.
My take on the issues being discussed here are this: God, as I understand him, is neither a Democrat or a Republican. I do believe he & His Son are compassionate conservatives, though.
As for supporting the current poor excuse for a president, I’d be happy to…once he does something supportable or remotely intelligent. So far he’s not been merely a disappointment, but he’s essentially consigned America’s future to relive the late 70’s and all the blunders of the Carter maladministration, compounded with the economical arrogant abandon & social tinkering of Clinton’s time in the oval office.
You want me to get behind this administration? Get it to stop taking every opportunity to pass the blame for everything conceivable on Bush while screwing things up worse in two months than the previous admin. was alleged to have done in eight years. I’d almost settle for someone reminding the first “lady” that she doesn’t need to speak every moronic thought she has out loud.
I might as well be asking them to each grow a foot taller overnight.
Wow! Lots of depth there Harvey, are you sure you’re not an agnostic? Mayhaps a teetering agnostic?
In any case, we are called to pray for our leaders in the book of Romans. It also tells us (Matt 7, I Cor 5, etc…) that we are to call other believers to account. That means, if you say you’re a believer, other believers get to point it out when you’re headed the wrong way. The goal here is to be helpful, not spiteful. We are also called to speak the truth. If I state a fact (Obama believes there should be no legal impediment to abortion), that isn’t necessarily judging, either, it’s merely truth.
I’m contemplating what Rubeus has said prayerfully. I still think that as a believer, I’m called to (at the very least) object to people insinuating that Obama is a “messiah”. I suspect that Obama not speaking out against people referring to him as such puts him in the position of being quite heretical (so, if you’re reading this Mr. President, repent please.) I don’t see at first glance any place in scripture where I’m called to respect the President. Nor do I see a scriptural issue with mocking him. I’m a protestant, though, and I don’t have the traditional references that my Catholic brethren might refer to.
I’m not the sharpest chick here, but at first glance, I don’t see a scriptural problem with mocking the president. And certainly, my beliefs would not have any validity with those who are not followers of Messiah.
Amen.
The bible doesn’t really have much in the way of clear teachings about politics. Things might be easier if it did. But like Carolynp said, we are supposed to pray for our leaders.
Now, what I am not saying is that we should just roll over and do nothing. Working towards making a difference is a very biblical principle. We should be actively working to educate people about what is happening, and change things according to our laws and principles.
Another thing I am not saying is that we shouldn’t second guess or make fun of him in the least. I have no problem with it. If someone makes fun of me, I take in in good stride, and I would expect the same from others.
What I am saying, is that this blatant hating is completely against biblical AND conservative principles. We are supposed to be the ones that say “I don’t agree with that. You are entitled to your opinion, but I think you are wrong”. What I’ve been seeing way too much of lately is “You’re wrong, so you’re stupid” kind of stuff. There comes times when you really have to look back to find that line you’ve crossed. We need to move back towards the “Love the sinner, hate the sin” kind of mentality. It really bugs me seeing people who call themselves conservatives acting with the same kind of hate that is commonly directed towards them.
Sorry for getting off topic, Harvey
Obama is a Poopy Face Poopoo Head!
Okay in THAT pic he DOES look like Curious George!
The cartoonist must be a wasis.
I don’t know, Rubeus. I don’t see nearly the amount of hatred & spite towards Obama that all us “racist Nazi Rethuglican thugs for Israeli dominance” see on the campuses & in the media. I’m not saying it isn’t there, but there’s a difference in conservatives venting frustration about an unqualified fraud making uninformed decisions and expressing the hatred & outright lies that we typically see from the Progressives every single day.
Sure, it’s easy to fall into the habit of objectifying BO & thereby making him less of a human with emotions, but they made it too easy to do; they made him into the Golden Calf and prostrate themselves to him in every hagiographic article & news broadcast, while perpetuating their demagoguery where anyone right of center is concerned.
For me, it doesn’t take much to get angry about what’s going on. And I think people should be mad about all the nonsense and constant assaults on American & Christian values since the 60’s. I do not believe that these new Progressives want unity; I truly believe that they want total polarization leading to class warfare and they will not stop until freedom means what they say it is. Law and Liberty should balance each other out (ideally), but I think their idea of liberty is horridly distorted: free from personal responsibility, freedom from religious influence, freedom from fat, caffeine, sugar, meat, fossil fuel, tobacco, unrestricted internet and a near-total freedom from dissenting views from crazy, hateful modern-day Emmanuel Goldsteins.
Do I hate Obama & the Liberal Left? Maybe a bit. It might just be their mind-boggling unwillingness to open their eyes. Maybe I let it grow inside more than I’d like to admit, but I don’t harbor the seething irrational hatred that all those “peace protesters”, Democrat politicos and Hollywood loudmouths displayed for the last 6 years towards the Bush/Cheney administration and Neo-Cons nationwide. I couldn’t live or act that way & still have the nerve to claim to be a “patriot”. And I have some of those pesky things called morals that are almost totally foreign concept to the left & their morally ambiguous proclamations.
Kos once stated “Screw them!” in reference to US military members facing dangers worldwide. About Kos & his ilk, I say “Forgive them if you will but don’t turn your back on them, not for a second. And be prepared to shoot first.”
Rubeus,
I want our President to succeed. I want what is best for America, and if our President fails, we are all worse off. I do pray for our President to succeed – perhaps not as much as I should, but I do.
I don’t think, however, that wanting our President to succeed precludes pointing out that he said something that simply isn’t true. It’s possible that he doesn’t know what free market principles are. It’s possible that he doesn’t understand free market principles. It’s possible that he’s lying. I think that those are the only possibilities, although I’m willing to be corrected on that, and I don’t think that the first two are very likely. I also think that anybody who agrees with me has the right and perhaps even the obligation to point that out.
I’m not going to resort to pointing out that lefties were much worse about W. That wouldn’t justify our being irresponsible. But Harvey’s post here seems to me to be well within the bounds of well-intentioned patriotic criticism, while comparing W to Hitler, for example, isn’t.
I enjoy the site for the humor but today I am inspired by the brotherly love you guys showed despite differing opinons. The atheist was respectful of the christian. Protestant of the Catholic. Even the long biblical reference didn’t draw criticism. Wow it is great when we all play nice in the sand box.
Alan: Did you just use the word “hagiographic”? No kidding? My brain hurts.
It’s funny, but eschatologists have noted for years the complete lack of any reference to the US in the apocalyptic books. It seems strange, given the US’s position in the world. I guess now we know why we aren’t mentioned. We’ll cease to be shortly before the worlds comes to curtains and the earth takes it’s final bow. I hear that New Jerusalem place is gonna be awesome though, so I’m not terribly worried.
Yes, we should pray for the obamessiah. We should pray he is granted the vision to see that he is an incompetent, arrogant fool who is being used as a tool by vicious power brokers who wish to destroy this country. We should also pray that this epiphany leads him to resign immediately.
#32 – DesertElephant,
– Daniel 2:33
“its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.”
I think the USA is somewhere in the feet, possibly a big toe.
Desert Elephant:
Jack VanImpe has a study wherein he gives reasons why he believes America is (nation) Mystery Babylon. (one of three Babylon references, the others religious and political)
Everyone is free to examine Revelation 18 and decide for themselves what is being described…it seems to be a nuclear event, with merchants of the earth (keeping a distance) agonizing that “no one buys their stuff anymore…” and they’re aghast that such a great, wealthy, hugely populated nation could come to such ruin.
Jeremiah 50 and 51 describe national destruction that happens in two time frames and two continents, one ancient and one future.
It is quite interesting reading, if you do an internet search, there are other authors who cover the same topic in some detail.
One thing seems eminent, with the onset of biometrics and implantable computer chip technology, the “mark of the beast” is a no brainer…
