Not just funny, it’s true. I recall in the not too distant past, the company I worked for reported 1041/K1 data to the IRS on the round magnetic tapes. All other clients were on the tape cartridges (which were being phased out), or data transmissions. We had to keep the round tapes and keep service on the equipment only because of the IRS needs.
