I just listened to Hillary on CNN, fresh from her Iraq trip, saying we need more troops for Afghanistan, but forget about more troops for Iraq, ’cause the war is lost.
You think that’s what she said to all the soldiers she glad-handed while she was over there? “You guys are doing an incredible job, we’re all so proud of you, too bad the war is lost, don’t worry, we’ll be running up the white flag just as soon as we can, you’ll be home in no time…”
Somehow, I doubt it.
And so now the Democrat rant is that we have to beef up Afghanistan so the Taliban don’t come back and turn it into a terrorist haven again, but run like hell from Iraq because it’s a civil war and the chances of that country becoming a terrorist haven probably aren’t that great anyway (we hope).
They’re absolutely incoherent…if they take The White House in ’08, they’ll be paralyzed with fear and indecision, and they’ll call their inability to act “cautious pragmatism”.
