When Peace Symbols Go Bad

The European Union (motto: We Blame the Jooos) has recently taken the brave step of banning the swastika.
Normally, I would have no problem with this, since hardly any of my Neo-con armbands sport this particular logo. However, a few Hindus have taken offense over this ban.
I don’t know why.. Maybe they’re Nazis.
Just kidding.
Turns out that the swastika thing is some sort of Hindu symbol for peace and they are offended that this symbol offends people.
I’m a strong believer in Hindus. My best friend Carlos is from Hindu-ras. He’s cool.
Anyway, I was just wondering – if this peace symbol has been hijacked by the Nazis, why not go into the history books and used photoshop to insert more respectable peace symbols?

I believe this would be fair solution that would make all parties happy. Except for peace activists, who would undoubtedly hold endless candlelight vigils.

  1. //I thought the hippy peace symbol was symbolic of being crucified upside down.//
Stephen King has this short story that the peace sign is semaphore code for Nuclear Disarmament. Either way it’s retarded.

  2. The swastika was widely used here in the southwest prior to it’s affiliation with Nazi boneheads.
The Navajo nation also used it as a symbol for balance & the Hopi people used it to represent the four directions of the wind. There are several buildings that have it displayed inside & out, such as the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque (ABQ!), and the Shafer building in a town called Mountainair.
In Arizona, it was displayed on highway markers up until 1942. In Glendale, CA it is still on over 900 lampposts around town.
    Trivia!

  3. Actually, Hitler got the swastika from Norse culture. It was the Norse rune known as Mundilfari, which represented raw power, immoderate, uncontroled power, and represented one who was creative but violent. It was the same, pointing either to the right or left, and was a favorite rune displayed by chieftens.
To the Hopi, it was a representation of what is commenly known as the medicine wheel.
The common hippie peace symbol is a representation of a chicken running away (ever nitice how hippies wear multiple peace symbols? It’s because they didn’t run fast enough to get out of the way of an even bigger chicken!). I say we rename the hippie peace symbol as the “Sir Robin” (Bravely bold Sir Robin, Bravely ran away….bravely ran away, away….!) Knowing the modern left, I agree…i probably does represent an upside-down cross.

  4. That’s how most libs like to look at the world, through candlelight. Everything is less sharp, there is no real black and white, only shades of gray, (from a song somewhere, I think) and if they can’t see it, it must not be true. Plus they don’t have that nagging sunlight to contend with, so all the vampires who suck the blood, fun and common sense out of others, can run amuck, amuck, amuck.

  5. It’s so nice the Europeans seem so bent on banning symbolism. Of course actual tyranny can be accommodated. Of course banning swastikas make everyone feel like they’re doing something substantive. We all know such symbolism is everything to the post-modern leftist.

  6. If you ban the swastika, what will the goons that Europe is secretly hoping will save them from the Muslims march under?
Next thing you know, they’re gonna ban Muslim-stomping goons…you know, if you put bottle rockets on the ends, the swastika makes a dandy pinwheel!
