The end of the original Superman was kinda stupid though.
As was the rest of it.

Now comes FrankJ with more political wit disguised as humor. Clearly, Superman and Batman represent the twin forces of Order and Progress, Right and Left, around which most nominally free political systems of the post-Industrial age have been organized.
The dialectic between the two icons concerning how each would have addressed the problem presented by the evil Luthor mirrors the pattern of how Order and Progress contend with social challenges. Order presents its own innate ability: no problem is too great for it, if only it should but make the attempt. Progress insists that it can develop a program, conceive of a solution, the efficacy of which is assured no matter how far-fetched or overmatched it appears to be by the problem at hand.
Batman rocks. Throw a batarang. Tie him up. Use the belt gadgets. No need for superpowers. He’s just really rich, really pissed, and really into research and development of cool crap. Can’t beat him.

funny. loved it.
I know next to nothing about Superman and Batman (like, on the negative side of nothing), but that was really funny. Nice one.

I had never thought of that. If he can fly fast enough to reverse time, why couldn’t he have caught both missiles? Now I feel silly.
Maybe Batman could have thrown a batarang, tied Luthor up, and then used Luthor’s detonator to destroy the missiles?
CosmicConservative,
There was no detonator, it was a trick to get Supes open the lead box with the Kryptonite in it.
