So What?

I know a lot of you are worried about the military now that they have to serve under Barack Obama, but here’s what my brother, Joe foo’ the Marine, said last night: “I joined under Clinton. I served under Bush. I’ll serve under Obama. So what?”

A lot of time, “So what?” is the most conservative position.

…it’s not my position, though; I have a blog to run. Still, everyone man-up enough to at least not freak out. We’ll get through this, but not with a bunch of emotions. Those are for girls and liberals.

  1. Yeah. I don’t think President Elect Obama will be stupid enough to pull out of Iraq before the 2011 deadline. Obama also said he would increase the size of the army by 2 divisions. I call BS, but time will tell. (He’s got 2 years come March.)

The one thing that makes our country better than other countries, say like Turkey, is our military is subservient to the elected officials. As long as the president just gives the mission and lets the military do it’s job, the military will be okay.

In the military you serve the office of the president, not the person. You don’t have to love your President, you just have to love your country.

  2. What this election will mean to me:

    1) the economy will linger on the downside for a while allowing me plenty of time to buy a foreclosed property and set up a large investment base since my own personal economy has done great over the last 8 years – now, by spending money wisely, I can make it appear that my income is low. Perhaps low enough to qualify for some of that spreadin’ around money.

    2) (and this one is by far the most important) Liberal women will have sex with me again…cause say what you want, but liberal chicks = better sex.

    3) a president getting his head stuck in a bucket is WAY funnier than a president falling down a staircase.

    4) every time someone calls me “white” I can get righteously indignant, call them a racist, and inform them that the correct term is “non-hyphenated-American”.

see? that’s the thing about conservatives, we don’t get angry and whiny. We just make the best of every situation and create our own opportunities. I don’t have time to complain. I have work to do.

  3. I think that it’s time to start the resistance. Start by going to an electronics store. Buy a package of resistors. Make and wear the resistors as tie tacks, lapel pins (under your American flag), etc. Then go to mden.com (I know, a lot of you will puke, but stay with me for a while). Buy anything with the word “Wolverines” on it and display the Wolverine proudly.

“We will not go blindly into the night…”

  4. “Liberal chicks = better sex.”
I wouldn’t know. Most liberal chicks that ask me have “walking petrie dish” stamped invisibly on their foreheads. Ain’t swimmin’ in that pool.
I have heard the crazy ones are better in bed, but I suppose that’s just saying the same thing with different words.

Back to the original point, I’ve said it before – if McCain can withstand five years of the viet-cong, we can withstand four years of their mental descendants.

  5. after getting a bit depressed last night at looking at the polls, i’ve decided that we conservatives are now the minority which means we can now call for minority rights and complain that we are being held down by the “man”. what a unique opportunity.

  6. It’s like we just got a stick shoved up our @$$ and are supposed to laugh about it. Wait hold on, these people that voted for Obama are all for it aren’t they. Oh well Frank i’m coming here more than ever for some humor, let the IMW’s roll my friend. I also like the “Know thy Enemie” posts a lot.

  7. Now that Obama has won, I need to write him a letter. I have significant balances on student loans, Obama is rich. He needs to spread his wealth my way. I will demand he writes me a check to pay for my student loans.

  8. Sorry, Frank, but I think we should freak out now while we still have the opportunity. Once we’re all rounded up and put into camps, there won’t be as much room to freak out in. We’ll have tents and campfires and stuff all over the place and there’ll be barbed wire and a pit of doom and everything. We should get on with it now.

Of course, this only applies to us civilians. The military should always be freaking out and slaughtering a thousand terrorists a day. I think your brother said, “So what” not because he’s not going to freak out but because he freaks out so often and gets to shoot things with real cool guns and Obama isn’t going to change that.

Anyway, now that we’re all Wolverines, can I be that kid who carves notches in the stock of his shotgun?

  9. I think I’ll go with Blarg’s Idea. We’ll make so much money of the coming depression we can buy the next election, Or better yet I bet we could buy Obama at a discount after the depreciation caused by four years of an Obama Administration. We’ll have him put our insiders in key positions.

Hey cptnmoroni! Let’s make you the secretary of War (Always had a better sound than Defense). MarkoMancuso can be the Secretary of State. We’ll just fly him around the planet with his pants around his ankles so foreign leaders can kiss his backside. We’ll make Pammy V the Secretary of Transportation so she can eliminate speed limits. Frank can be the Press Secretary. His job will consist of taking questions from the press and then giving them answers for questions they didn’t remotely ask or threatening them with a giant Scottish Claymore.

The best part of this is, if the public didn’t question Obama during the election why would they question him later when he actually has some experience.

  10. We’ll get through this, but not with a bunch of emotions

OK, Spock. Whatever you say. Sobbing like a 5 year old whose kitten just got run over by a hybrid is one thing. Slow, seething, simmering rage is another. We can ditch the former while retaining the latter.

You can have my slow, seething, simmering rage when you can pry it from my cold, seething heart.

  11. We need to show the country how an adult handles adversity, not like a democrat.

Congradulations Mr. Obama on your election to President. You can expect from me the same respect and consideration that your party has shown President Bush over the last six years.

    Never Surrender, Never give up

I only want to be the Secretary of the Army at War. There needs to also be a cabinet-level position for the Navy at War, Marines at War, Air Force at War, Coast Guard at War, and Boy Scouts at War, thus giving us almost as much of an emphasis on killing foreigners as we should have.

The press secretary should have one of those old-fashioned grape presses next to the podium and whenever a journalist asks a stupid question, he gets put inside the grape press like the Terminator. Granted, I’m Scottish and claymores are very cool but they just don’t have the same visual impact as a big machine with goo running out of it.

  13. Hey cptnmoroni! As Secretary of WAR you can make those changes. You would be like Eisenhower was to Nimitz. Just fill the slot with some of the Underground. Harvey was in the Navy, that’s covered. Even though I haven’t seen him for a while Echo5 was in the Corps. According to their facebook profile we have some one here in the Coast Guard, He can start training attack Dolphins to kill terrorist. (That reminds me. MarkoMancuso will have to have the State Department list Greenpeace as a terrorist organization.)

Also I think the Claymore would be highly effective if Frank would hurl it at random into a reporter for asking a general question. After the first week White House reporters will be getting Hazardous duty pay.

  14. If a claymore were hurled through Helen Thomas, would we even be able to tell if she died? She’s basically a zombie in more ways than one already. Where’s Princess Leia with a chain when you need her?

  15. 16. BRSmall:

If MarkoMancuso declines (or is too hungover), I humbly volunteer to be Secretary of State.

We’ll also need a spot for Condi. She’ll be out of a job come January, as she’s too much the cracker for the Obama administration.

  16. liberal chicks = better sex

As a conservative woman I resent this statement, but will leave all my girl-emotion aside while I laugh my #$@ off at how very, very untrue and just plain icky (liberal ANYTHING is gross) it is.

  17. Yeah, I’m with #29 about liberal chicks. They’re like Charlie the Chicken who survived with no brain (or head) for 2-1/2 years in a circus. The owner just kept poking corn down it’s gullet hole and it seemed fine. It walked around trying to peck the ground with no head. (Ok, Charlie still had the base of his brain intact. And this is a true story – but don’t Google it.)

(Oh, and Alan, she’s twice the man he is, too!)

  18. Frankj,
When you do your next ‘In My World’ post go one step beyond.
I mean, if it’s Your World, then anyone you want could be president.
I’d like to see at least one with McCain as POTUS, but after that the field is wide open.
Sarah Palin, Todd Palin, Fred Thompson, zombie Reagan, Papa Smurf etc.

Now and always, thanks and prayers to those who serve.

  19. “So what?” Also the perfect 2-word sum up for whichever talking head from our side has the privilege of responding to BHO’s State of the Union addresses.

Yes, God bless our brave patriots overseas, and Thank You. Finish the job and come home soon…safely!
