Thieves Described As “Wearing Brown Coats”

Saw this story:

Thieves scaled a wall at a pharmaceutical warehouse over the weekend, cut a hole in the roof and rappelled inside to steal about $70 million in antidepressants and other prescription drugs, authorities said Tuesday.

Hmmm… that sounds familiar.

And based on this little snippet:

No vehicles were reported stolen from the site or nearby, so it’s believed they arrived with one or more vehicles large enough to transport the dozens and dozens of pallets of drugs, he said.

I just gotta ask the readers near Enfield, Connecticut…

Did anybody happen to notice a suspicious-looking Firefly class transport ship in the area last Sunday?

  1. Oh come on. You guys aren’t really falling for this phony news story, are you? The night they stole the drugs, no one was working in the warehouse. Coincidence? I think not. In addition, the hole that was found in the ceiling was approximately the same circumference as that of a cruise missile. Suspiciously, Dick Cheney was nowhere near either the White House nor Enfield, Connecticut the night of the “robbery”. And, lastly, fire won’t melt steal…except when they melt or forge it with fire. So, obviously this was an inside job and means only one thing…George Bush.

  2. I can just feel an Obama anecdote (obamectdote?) coming.

“There were three men in Connecticut who had their health insurance cut off after they were laid off. Mired in depression and unable to afford the robber baron prices of needed antidepressants, these three men broke into a factory and stole the medicines they so desperately needed.

  3. Nathan Fillon had no comment on the story; however it was noted that he was missing from the Castle set for up to 8 hours last evening.

Alan Tudyk was quoted as saying “I need to remove my own plank before I can comment on the sliver in the captain’s eye…”

(Nerdy Firefly references for the win!)

  4. WELLLLLL… not to be a firefly nerd here BUT….any firefly class transport doesn’t have to be the Serenity. There are over 50,000 firefly class transports still in operation by the time the pilot aired but we CAN pick out mostly likely if the ship is Serenity or not by noting if it had the extenders which make for a smoother ride (quoted by Shepperd, again in the pilot.) Older models, such as those built long before Kailee was crawling, didn’t have these and thus tended to shake. Also, Serenity doesn’t have the proper registry markings on the bow as noticed by the Alliance officer before boarding in “Bushwhacked.” Also, we could check the two shuttles, chances are one will be missing as Inara is out plying her trade (God help her in Connecticut). But the easiest way to tell would be to look for the Chinese characters 宁静 (Níngjìng) meaning tranquility in Mandarin, as can be seen when Inara is painting the insignia on the ship at the conclusion of Serenity

But yeah….Brown Coats….Firefly Class Transport….Probably Mal and crew aiming to misbehave.

  5. What can I say…I know me some Firefly 🙂
For fun some friends will quote a line and I have to give the episode title and which DVD it’s on….for an added challenge, i go one step further and I try to remember the order of the episode on that DVD.
