Maybe some day I should write some military SF. I could draw an accurate, well researched picture of what the future will be like when war is fought between giant robots and dinosaurs with rocket launchers. There will be a lot more military tactics revolving around not stepping in poo.
Some of the best military science fiction I’ve ever read was John Scalzi’s recent 4 book series, which has, amazingly, 4 books! They are in order:
1- Old Man’s War 2- The Ghost Brigades 3- The Last Colony 4- Zoe’s Tale.

I brought Better to Beg Forgiveness from the amazon ads. Good book. I’m looking forward to read more.
A suggestion for some good reading is the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. Here is the first book, On Basilisk Station, to download for free. Honor of the Queen, the second book, is also free.
I started writing one of these some years ago. Decided I hated writing; but the idea gets tossed around in my head to try and finish it some day. Possibly when I stop caring about everything else I’m doing at this point in my life.

The artwork on the cover is captivating. I could almost be the farm the artist has deep dark issues he drowns in pharmaceuticals.
