Hot on the heals of the Supreme Court ruling that Obamacare is a giant tax, Obama now wants to hit the struggling economy with more taxes. He’s pushing to raise taxes on the rich once again, and I just don’t know what to say about this anymore. There is no possible scenario in which that will help the economy though there are many in which it will hurt, so the only logical reason to push it is to stir up class warfare to help his election chances. That’s it; there’s no arguing on that point. The rich, who provide jobs and all the great tech we love, are our constant whipping boy and scapegoats for everything. Such whininess should never have been allowed to take hold in this country. Whining about the rich should be an automatic hippie punch, but while it’s allowed it’s just another big distraction from a recovery. Why try when you can whine?
As I’ve said, this country can achieve anything as long as we can learn that someone else getting rich doesn’t hurt us.
Until I started working for myself, I’d never worked for a poor guy before. Working for rich guys pays a whole lot better.
I so agree. There is nothing like not having any income at all to get one to focus on the reality of the situation. I can’t even get a job as a dog walker. Maybe after 40 years I’ll just give up and move to the projects. Either they’ll kill me or I’ll die of my pre-existing conditions. Either way a win-win for team Obama.
Rich people provide jobs while manufacturing products or providing services that we need, which is somehow destroying the lives of middle class college kids who own iPods.
Simple solution. Learn the names and location of people richer than yourself. Since no one can define the actual line of where “rich” is, when the taxman comes and says “Hey you are rich, gimme all your cash.” You can just say “That guy hiding behind that mailbox has more money than me, he is rich.” Then you just run and hide.
He will do anything and say anything to get reelected; however, he has a very limited imagination and has about run out of special interest groups to pander to, so he will shore up his eroding base. Naked lust for power is an ugly thing.
However, 100% guaranteed that if he still fails to crack 50% on polls by September, he will host SNL. Put money on it.
