I have to wonder why he cares about this now unless what he wants is an Internet tax. He’s had 6-1/2 years of supplying his cronies with big bucks (and vice verse) and won’t be around to arrange payoffs on this one since any FCC rulings will no doubt be challenged in court. The FCC is not the Department of Commerce and what goes down a private fiber is clearly not part of their mission.
Oh. Wait. Maybe it’s a payoff for him AFTER he’s gone – if, by chance, he gets his way.

@4 is right, because Obama’s partied at the home of the CEO of Comcast on Martha’s Vineyard, and may be angling for a special Board of Directors position after his term’s up; and
@3 is right because, well, “Screw everyone else and whatever freedoms they had” is also instinctive to this crowd.
Can we first get a president who works for everyone?
The question is not why we should treat the Internet like a Utility but why should we treat a Utility as we do.

Jimmy, I think it is just the first step in regulating speech over the internet as well as rewarding business that supports the Libs.

I am getting fiercely annoyed with the government trying to fix things that aint broken and then breaking them severely in the process.
If it weren’t for Al Gore, we wouldn’t even have the internet, so… global warming.
