I Can Imagine LOTS of Conversations We Need to Have in This Country

President Obama defended Kaepernick sitting during the national anthem, saying “he’s generated some conversation around some topics that need to be talked about”.

Funny how he never said that when Trump questioned his birth certificate.

  1. I support Kaepernick’s right to protest by not rising for the national anthem. That said, I stand on my right to think he’s a whiny, childish dick, who has no idea what real oppression is, for doing so.

  2. I support Kaepernick’s right of free speech to say whatever he believes about his view of the situation, even though I strongly disagree with his view.
My problem is with his choice to do it during games, while he is representing a team, a league, a venue which is paying him millions of dollars to represent them, A salary which is paid by folks who just want to attend (or watch) a game. Air your grievance over the many media interviews which you are accorded, as David Ortiz recently has done. By doing it on the field, during game time, while in the uniform of his team, with support of major league teams Kaepernick has now made professional sports a venue for political statements of each millionaire on their team.
