Maybe Outlived Its Usefulness?

So… IMAO has this pop-up ad. I’ve had a few complaints.

If we get rid of it, will you tell your friends that it’s safe to come back?

  1. haven’t seen it, maybe that would only happen if I ever acknowledged that attempt to get me to accept cookies?
also use ad-block, that might be it.
I might take a vacation from the site if there was a popup I couldn’t get rid of, they’re evil.
this whole internet fad is on it’s way out anyway, might be getting time to find something else to do with my time (though it won’t be video games)

  2. Nowhere near as bad as Breitbart’s Big Hollywood and Jim Treacher’s Daily Caller. Their sites are loaded with so much stuff they constantly jam up the (admittedly inferior) computer I use. I used to think it was Disqus, but Instapundit uses Disqus and it doesn’t give me half the problems Breitbart’s and Treacher’s do.

  3. I usually visit on my mobile, and every page here tries to save a file called download.pdf. I tried to view it in a PDF viewer and didn’t see anything, and I haven’t noticed it when I visit using a PC.

    Anyone else seeing that?

  4. probably not what you or your sponsors want to hear, but I have several ad and popup blockers configured, some of which modify my hosts files to redirect ad content to 127.0.0.1 so they don’t even attempt to load ad or tracking content. I haven’t seen it.

  5. Yes, please knock out the pop up. And fix the jumpy scrolling issue as well. I promise to click on a side bar ad every now and then to help pay the bills. But, I hate getting annoyed while I am being entertained.
