Every Amendment in the Constitution is there due to the desires of the American People. The one thing that no one ever wanted again (After FDR) was a president having the ability to consolidate enough power to be re-elected into perpetuity. Obama even mentioning running for a third term is proof that his narcissistic personality is such that he does not respect the Constitution or the citizens who created and amended it legally. What a putz!
Add the small states unwillingness of being ruled by the population centers of the nation and we see where the reasoning for the Electoral College. Imagine Tammany Hall dictating our federal government in the 1800’s. They could have if our presidential election was based entirely on the popular vote.
The worst of all of this are the ignorant self indulgent whiny liberals and party democrats who are acting like spoiled children who are not getting their way. It is embarrassing to be honest to be considered a fellow citizen with such childish people.
When Obungler was elected we conservatives were not happy. We saw his approach to national policy as being destructive to the nation and we also considered his excessive desire to regulate as an affront to our rights as citizen. Did we hold cry ins and protests and go on the media and try to subvert his election or did we demand his not being president because perhaps he was unqualified????? No. We toiled along doing our jobs and supporting the vast welfare state that Obungler made bigger and bigger. We organized peacefully and legally (think Tea Parties) and what did we get for it???? Persecuted by Obungler appointees in the IRS. We did bide our time and even then could not field a candidate in 2012 who resonated with the people. Finally in 2016 facing the possibility of another clinton presidency we managed to field a man who did speak to the majority of the people and he was elected lawfully and in spite of the democrats stuffing ballot boxes all over the nation. Even when they cheated they did not win this time around.
The election of 2016 is a case where the adults are taking control back from the kids and the kids don’t like it. Their behavior says a lot about their real maturity and their lack of wisdom.
I do hope and pray that Trump leads this nation wisely and that he restores our status in the world. I have two sons in the military and it is for their sake that I say this; theirs and every other American who is serving this nation.
