Taxation is a voluntary agreement between the government and the people. The people have a direct way to effect taxation, it is called the vote. If we do not exercise that control, or cannot persuade enough of our fellow citizens to exercise it then we have no one really to blame but ourselves and all the guns on either side matter not a whit.
I believe in taxation, just not ‘over taxation’. When does it become over taxation? That’s the big debate.
