Granted, I want the whole world to be wealthy, but as far as investing my own money, I’ll sink it into places that can leverage a better, more reliable return on it. I’m going to keep investing First World.

Prager had an interesting article on the high cost of corruption over at TownHall. An interesting rejoinder to this video, the idea that the reason we don’t see western style progress all over is because of corrupt government. Gaza comes to mind as a perfect example. The rest of the world pours in billions annually, and the area is still a wasteland.

Look at famines across the world. They happen these days not because there is not enough food but because the local governments are incompetent at best or actively preventing food distribution.
