I agree with the last paragraph. I concluded on my own on this issue that ‘red flag’ laws would work until someone (i.e. every liberal) looking for an excuse to red flag every single potential and/or imagined infraction started pushing for action.
Police will raid a gun owner’s home under the pretense of “mental health” or “anonymous complaint” and confiscate their guns. They will then slow-walk the appeals process until the guns have been in custody long enough to be eligible to be destroyed. In many cases the process takes years and and it’s only after winning the appeals process that the wonder finds out their guns have already been destroyed so not only has their property been destroyed, they are allowed to continue to waste their time and resources in court after the property is irrecoverable.
