Hi gang a little something new for you. First of all I would like to introduce another new special assistant, please make her feel welcome.
We’ve been doing the Straight Line of the Day for awhile and I wanted to introduce a little something different. Something that will stretch you out a bit, maybe make you a starter some day.
This is a write me a paragraph challenge. I will present an actual headline from real, honest to God, sources and I want you to give me the money opening paragraph. The only paragraph anyone ever reads.
So, shall we give it a try?

Awful short paragraph my friend. So short you can stick it on the moon.
Oh I know I could have padded the story, filled it out with the usual background facts about trans-phobic TSA agents and the systemic trans-phobia, and racism, of all but a handful of progressive, woke Americans. However, keep it short, sweet, and to the point, that’s what they taught me in journalism school. Besides…this is IMAO not the Mostly Socialist News Broadcasting Company (MSNBC).
Between tears and sobs, Vikky Hammersmith told the assembled reporters, “It seems like such a little thing, but it’s huge for me!” Attorney Gloria Allred added, “This brave woman needs our support, so that no other woman goes through the emotional trauma she endured. The TSA screening equipment is much too sensitive, and that needs to change now!”
It was a cold day in hell . . . hell being the TSA examining room at O’Hairy Airport. The plus-gendered examinee was surrounded by the faces of nonplussed guards. It brought back embarrassing memories of being found in the girls’ high-school locker room with an anomaly betwen the legs. That didn’t work out any better than this was going to.
Why in the Hell does everyone have to define what gender I am? Are you assuming that there are only two genders & I am trans-alienating from either one? Calling me a “Transgender Female” is very ambiguous since I don’t feel female unless I have an Anomaly inserted.
