Welcome my friends to the show that never ends.
These are the opening salvos in the great Rock ‘n Roll war. A single elimination tournament to determine the greatest Rock ‘n Roll song of the 1950s and from there… of the last 70 years. We will be doing a companion tournament for Country and Western songs.
On Wednesday and Fridays we will be posting the matches for your voting pleasure. Contests will be open for voting through Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be some cross over hits here and there. The source that I use may not be definitive but it is good and a useful starting point.
So here are the opening 8 matches.
Polls will close on Tuesday, August 31st at 5:00 pm.

You can’t imagine the depths to which I despise Shout. Rap may be more tolerable. I don’t know why, but I have always hated that song.
So you’ve thrown your hands up on it.
Let it all out. That is the thing you can do without.
