I knew my grandfather was in WWII, but he never talked about it at all. I found out he was there for the attack on Pearl Harbor only because him and grandma went there a few years ago for vacay and one night he jumped under the bed and was freaking out.
One could view it that way but then why would the ’54 Godzilla come as a surprise to the Japanese at the point? Also, small point, they actually call hi Godzilla not the original Gojira.

Now I think that I’m in the proper mindset to go see Godzilla Minus One.
Just saw it yesterday. Very true to the original 1954 one. Not scene for scene but in spirit.
I thought the “Minus One” and it being set in 1948 meant that it is supposed to be a prequel to the 1954 film.
