Showing people, even complete strangers, a bit of affection can really improve not just their attitude, but can also help some people in the healing process. This is why I sometimes like to go to the emergency room and give out free hugs. It’s pretty cool to have such a positive impact on people, except, well, uh….
Has anyone here ever heard of brittle bone disease?
That’s something I love about visiting the South. People are so friendly. Up here in the PNW people treat others like they are simply moving statues, furniture to navigate around. Most don’t even know their neighbors. I lived in a duplex for 2 years, never saw the person who lived next door, despite being outside almost constantly. I saw their truck one time. The garage door opened before they came around the curve in the road so they didn’t even have to stop in the driveway, and it was closing before the truck was even turned off. The lack of affection might help to explain the attitudes up here.
Benito Miscellany: I think that was the name of the soups (never were 2 the same) my Italian Grandmother used to make with whatever happened to be in her fridge, plus some barley. Damn it was good.
First cousin to Dr. Miguelito Quixote Loveless.
— can’t get an Obscury, because I used to follow the doings of Dr. Loveless on the Wild, Wild West…

Do you want to hear a joke? Too bad, this comment section doesn’t accommodate audio, so you’re just going to have to read it:
I’ve been told that my life would improve greatly if I went out to meet new people, so now, every Thursday, I visit the maternity ward.
