Mom of NYC boy, 15, killed while subway surfing atop train car sues city’s transport network, TikTok and Meta claiming her phone ‘addict’ son was ‘affirmatively directed’ to deadly stunt by social media

The mother of the 15-year-old New York boy who died while subway surfing last year has now launched a lawsuit against the city’s subway network, TikTok and Meta.

Norma Nazario’s son Zackery Nazario died while subway surfing on a Brooklyn-bound J train over the Williamsburg Bridge on February 20, 2023.

A low beam struck the teenager in the head, causing him to fall between the subway cars and before he could get away, a train ran over him.

A year after his death, Norma has filed a lawsuit against the MTA and the social media platforms, claiming that the apps ‘goaded’ her child into the deadly stunt by recommending similar videos.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from TikTok, Meta and the MTA.

The Jefferson County coroner has confirmed that a 34-year-old Colorado man died this month, days after being bitten by one of his two pet Gila monsters.

“I think this case highlights that any venomous animals should be respected” …

… the precise cause of death won’t be known until additional toxicology testing is completed.

… “venomous reptiles are hazardous and should only be handled or possessed by people with the proper training.”

… experts will “look at the venom components and see if there is some reason this might occur.”

Venom. Venom . . . VENOM! Can I be promoted to Investigator now?

If your autopsy contains the word “monster” . . .
