…Hockey Player dead for only 16 minutes sounds like rookie numbers but….how about 9 y.o. 190 pd. Johnny playing neighborhood hard ball that thought he was so tough playing without a mask and ended up taking a fast ball from the the first baseman to the jaw (broken) because he had a stye on his right eye …I think they wrote a story about it: “The Catcher With The Stye”
Pretty sure my dad spoke to Wayne Gretzky once too. Back in the 80’s they’d all go out drinking at Gordie’s place after Whaler’s games. He wasn’t a hockey player or anything. He just drank at the same place they did. I’m sure he wasn’t dead during conversation. But he was probably pretty lit.
