  1. To be honest, I really didn’t know the name or the guy. But the more I read about him, the more I am amazed that I HADN’T heard of him. Remember when they put heroes in the spotlight, and not behind a curtain?

  2. We have lost a true American hero, but his legacy lives on in his movies, his political activities, and his supreme leadership as president of the National Rifle Association.
He, and Ronald Reagan prompted me to become more politically involved, and Mr. Heston convinced me to become a Life member of the NRA.

  3. May Heston have that gun clutched in his hand, until that day when the graves are opened, and our savior sits in judgement. Only then will there no longer be a need for such things on this earth.

  4. A sad and horrible day. I have declared a day of mourning.
But I agree with the Jawa that I would love to be the fly on the wall when He meets Moses in person! I wonder how all the historical angles are handling his portrayals now that they can talk to him in person.

  5. Damn dirty Alzheimer’s!!!
OK, that was a bad joke too, but I mean no disrespect whatsoever. I knew that the moonbats were going to celebrate like it was Mardi Gras just as they did in June ’04 when Reagan passed.
And I’m glad when they do sh*t like that because nothing exposes them as hate mongers faster than their own vile displays.

  6. My inlaws were flying back to the states from Hawaii, when Mr. Heston was filming there. He was on the plane with them and my mother-in -laws first thought was, “Ok, we’ll get back safe, Moses is on the plane.
My you be in heaven an hour before the devil even knows you’re dead- Old Irish Blessing.
    God speed Mr. Heston, sir.

  7. I’m not a gun owner. I’ve never even fired a real gun (I’ve fired bb guns). But I admired Mr. Heston for his work. The first responsibility of a government is to protect the rights of its citizens and other legal residents. The very least that it can do in fulfillment of that responsibility is not to interfere with the actions of those citizens to protect their own rights.

  8. //Requiescat in pace, Mr. Heston.
And may I say here that no other man can look as sexy wearing a loincloth.

yes the loin cloth IS attractive, but don’t forget the gun adds some appeal as well. Eye candy for any right wing lady of our generation. Thank you, Lord for allowing him to spend the time he had on Earth.

  9. I say leave the gun in his cold, dead hands and bury him with it. And then lets have a million-man march on Washington all holding our guns.

Let’s have one regardless of whether Mr. Heston gets to keep his! Washington deserves to be marched on by armed citizens!

  10. A million gun march! I’ve wanted to do that for years! You know there wouldn’t be a politician left in DC for a week before or a week after such an event. Hey! 2 weeks with no laws passed and noones’ life messed with. Let’s do it every month! We wouldn’t even have to show up, just say we were going to and watch the cockroaches scurry! I like the idea of buying a new gun in Mr. Hestons’ honor. Something with a scope this time …

  11. I think I loved his manner of speaking most…he could tell you how to make waffles and still be captivating.
Goodbye, Mr. Heston. You will be missed. I think I loved his manner of speaking most…he could tell you how to make waffles and still be captivating.
Goodbye, Mr. Heston. You will be missed. <3

  12. 2nding two good ideas already posted:
    1. Zombie Reagan and Zombie Heston in 2008! And they’d still do a better job leading this nation than the current terrible trio we have running; I’d proudly vote for that ticket, seriously.
    2. Buy a gun in honor of Mr. Heston. I’ve never been armed before, but now would be the time.

We could form up at the Pentagon (“Funny building, four walls and a spare” as Col. Potter on MAS*H described it), then march accross the bridge into D.C. The Potomac would overflow from all the congressional piss.
Time to recapture our flag and our American spirit boys and girls!
