RIP Jimmy Buffett

Sad day in Margaritaville as Jimmy heads up to the big Labor Day weekend show in the sky. I’ve been a fan since 1984 and have been to over 40 concerts. Best tailgate parties in the world. He will be missed. So if you have the mind to raise a Margarita and give a salute to the man who created a lifestyle shared by millions. Thanks Jimmy.

My favorite song.

One of my favorite Jimmy Buffett references.

Vaya con dios Jimmy.

  1. Lots of very good rhymes, some good puns, lots of very good lyric narratives, lots of good catchy (infectious) tunes. LOTS of soundtracks to lots of people’s good times. A master of the sing-along genre.

And Gordon Lightfoot in the same year. Talent is disappearing.

  2. Saw him at The Auditorium in Chicago back in ’77. I liked his early work – A1A in particular is a very good album. His later work just didn’t do much for me.
He made a lot of people happy. That’s a good life. RIP.
