Worst on the Right

John Hawkins has a blogger survey of the least liked people on the right. I didn’t participate because I like everybody (SarahK did participate and explains her vote here), but it’s still an interesting list.

A couple points of order, though:

* Can we stop including Andrew Sullivan on the list? No one other than himself think he’s a conservative anymore. That’s not to say he’s liberal; he’s just bat@#$% insane.

* What’s Mitt Romney doing on the list? What did he do?

* Where’s Palin? Smart conservatives don’t like Palin. Didn’t Hawkins survey smart conservatives?

  1. Although I agree 100% with naming RINOs and tossing them out, these lists bug me because where are the lists for Worst on the Left? I’m sick of their getting pass after pass of hiding (or broadcasting) their radical agenda, accusing the Right of what they are as equally guilty of, and running as centrists when they know darn well that their Leftist religion (secular humanism IS a religion) cannot get elected.

  2. The first time I read a column by Andy(aka the milkman) I figured him for a member of the DU. I was was somewhat amused when I saw that he claims himself to be “conservative”. I guess that’s conservative if you think of The One as being a centrist.

  3. OK, so I actually looked at the list, and I see that The Governator is on there. Here in California I guess coming out in favor of gay marriage, teaching the gay agenda starting in Kindergarten, raising taxes, supporting abortion on demand qualify you as a conservative. He is actually to the left of about half of the Democrat governors around the country! To my mind he is the picture of most of what is wrong with the Republicans today, a classic Rino.

  4. NunyaB, I hear you. Why do you start your own list of the Worst on the Left? I’m sure everyone here would help you, and you could become rich and famous. Let’s start off the list of despicable illuminati with Joe Biden. Next?

  5. Nunya: your “Worst of the Left” list would be an exercise in futility. That would be like wading hip-deep in the toxic waste sites in New Jersey, trying to identify the twenty most rotted cockroach corpses. They’re all rotted cockroaches, and unless you’re ready to dissect them all down to the molecular level, it’s going to be hard to…

… sorry, mental lapse there. I had this sudden fantasy of vivisection on uber-liberals, and it’s just hard to stop grinning.

Anyway, how do you determine degrees of rancid? Isn’t it really, in the final analysis, a matter of “they all stink, they’re all putrid, and I don’t want any of them within six hundred yards of me, my front door, or my wallet, unless I’m equipped with something that has a bolt action and a good scope”?

If you know what I’m saying, and I think you do…

  6. Wow Loomdog, that’s a real shock. After all why would we want someone who believes in God(oh yeah and his Son, Jesus Christ), family, the sanctity of life, the Constitution, Conservatism, the Constitution and who has the added plus of being a successful business man at……. wait for it………. getting businesses out of bad situations.

I’m so glad my ancestors came to this country for religious freedom. I’m thrilled someone like the Rev. Huckabee stands as the example of religious tolerance and Christian inclusiveness. I appreciate his helping to elect the “messiah”. All those almost aborted babies left to die will, I’m sure, be very appreciative of his assistance.

  7. Seanmahair, I’m pleased as punch that you see the commonalities between us Mormons and everyone else, but I’d just like to remind you that Huckabee was out there leading the charge against Romney because he was an “icky icky Mormon”. I remember he made this really low move, making a commercial attacking Romney’s religion and then holding a press conference so that he could air it and say “this is the commercial I’m NOT going to run because it’s over the top”. Way to run a commercial without running it, Huck! That was when he lost my interest.

  8. #19 – Please look up the definition of “satire” and read #18 again. I am pretty sure the lovely Seanmahair likes Gov. Romney, and had to spit when she typed the name “Huckabee”. Note how she thanks Huckster on behalf of the aborted babies.

  9. I remember when the democrats were losing everything for 6 years and everytime they lost their reaction was to think “clearly this is God’s way of telling us we haven’t been batshit crazy enough.” Then they got a sexy black guy running so crazy positions didn’t matter. I wonder if a sexy black man will be able to get republicans elected again 6 years from now when part of their platform is burning the old constitution and replacing it with the king james bible.

  10. Sarcasm confirmed. I hated the fact that the media forced McCain, Rudy, and the Huckster on Republicans as credible candidates. I also believe that Fred not having a real interest in being President confirms he is a bona fide rock solid Conservative.

  11. Thanks HCG,
I’m With Stupid, no I got the satire I was simply attempting (poorly obviously) to expand on it.

I have to admit that sometimes it is frustrating that my attempts at satire do not translate. Let’s get this straight, I as a member of those “ickky Mormons” have a real problem with religious bigotry. It’s bad enough we have to defend ourselves against the loony left (who are now mailing mysterious white powder to our houses of worship, as well as demonstrating at them, due to our support of Prop 8) but to have to defend ourselves to OTHER Christians makes me want to rip someone’s head off and ……

No. thats ussjimmycarters line and I will not use it, but you get the idea.

PS HCG, I think you are lovely too.

  12. #27 – TomC,
Probably no one else will ever see this, on such an old post, but just for you …

    Isaiah 65:12-14
“I will destine you for the sword, and you will all bend down for the slaughter; for I called but you did not answer, I spoke but you did not listen, You did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me.
Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says; ‘My servants will eat, but you will go hungry; my servants will drink, but you will go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.
My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anquish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit.'”
