Question of the Day

Posted by Harvey on September 26, 2009 at 9:20 am

In the comments to the post on Obama’s creepily consistent smile, Crusty asked:

What’s the difference between Barack Obama and a cardboard cutout?

Well, here’s the side-by-side:

Have at it in the comments.

  1. StickeeNotes says:

One is full of paper & paste instead of sh*t. Actually the real difference is that the cutout is incapable of turning its head from side to side to face the two teleprompters.

  2. Stefan says:

Well cardboard is recyclable, just like his smile. But as for a difference, well the cutout never keeps on talking and talking about the same non-sensible crap without actually saying anything.

  3. Erica Saunders says:

HAHAHA wow that was funny. I was going to say there is none they are both created by someone else.

  4. Sissy Willis says:

    It’s no laughing matter

As I wrote perhaps presciently last October in Obama unmasked:

“We and the immediate blogosphere made note of Barack Obama’s ‘creepy, smirky smile’ that transmogrified his human face into ‘a bizarre theatrical comedy mask’ every time John McCain mentioned an inconvenient truth about his opponent’s words or deeds during last night’s debate. Above left, the mask emerges in full at McCain’s evocation of ‘Acorn.’”

    Creepy, crawly.

  5. mark_tork says:

    One can’t lie.

  6. Corsair says:

The cutout is less dangerous to the Constitution.

  7. Jimmy says:

The real one is nicely tanned and the cutout is some white guy.

  8. Corsair says:

Even if it had been cut out of the Constitution.

  9. AwesometificAmerican says:

The cut out has more substance.

The worse the cut out can do is give you a paper cut.

One is two-dimensional and the other is made of cardboard.

  10. ss396 says:

One is made from recycled waste products, and so is the other.

  11. Cliff says:

His ears are smaller on the cutout..or is that the real one?
I can’t tell but ones ears are smaller

  12. Stephen says:

Cardboard cutouts can’t read a teleprompter.

  13. Steve says:

Cardboard cutouts can’t single-handedly ruin the economy.

  14. Jim says:

    Paper or plastic?

  15. Live Free Or Die says:

The Real O-bah-muhh has George Soros’ tentacle up his back, wrapped around his brain stem. When Barack is supposed to give his consistant sh*teating grin, Soros causes Dopey-mine production to dump into Barack’s pleasure center, ;) ,causing the now famously consistant sh*teating grin. :)

  16. Crusty says:

Thanks for clearing that up for me! Now I can clearly see that…uh…the one on the…aw hell, I still don’t know the difference.

  17. AlanABQ says:

The cardboard cutout is better qualified to be president. But they’re both pretty much two dimensional.

  18. Ron Rockstar says:

One doesn’t hate America. The other is the President.

  19. Dana Ross says:

One of them is single handedly destroying capitalism and the other would make a great gag gift on america. You decide which is which

  20. anctrekker says:

Simple, the cutout has more depth

  21. MikeLL says:

Who the hell made a life size cardboard cutout of Obama? Harvey, is that sitting in your living room? Do you throw darts at it or something?

  22. penultimatum says:

The cardboard cutout doesn’t change positions on issues as often.

  23. AlanABQ says:

I want a life size two dimensional cutout like that for target practice! And I’ll take the one on the right, too.

  24. IH8Socialist says:

Lets see the cardboard Obozo can’t destroy America with his commie agenda. The real life Obazo can. The cardboard cutout Obama doesn’t make lame speeches everyday. The real Obama does. The cardboard cutout doesn’t refere to himself every 13 seconds in the lame speeches. The real Obama does. The cardboard Obama can at least stand up to Iran. The real Obama won’t.

  25. seanmahair says:

Which one is the cardboard cutout again? I can’t really see a difference, but then I’m old, female and a conservative.

I’ve been told we’re not very observant.

  26. Jimmy says:

I’ll solve it for you, seanmahairmama: the one on the right went to Harvard where his accomplishments are as thin as the paper he’s printed on. The one on the left is a Chicago community organizer who’s slicker than dear guts on a doorknob.

  27. Adam Mk 1 Mod 0 says:

Obviously, the cardboard cutout doesn’t stutter.

    Cardboard does not lie.

The cutout doesn’t care about deforestation. It does, in fact, owe its existence to lumberjacks.

The cutout better understands the difference between using production and future consumption as indicators of economic success in free markets.

In conclusion, the cutout is more productive by virtue of the fact that it doesn’t continually try to &$%# up the economy.

  28. AF_Vet says:

I’m not sure which one is which, but the one on the left looks totally fake.

  29. DamnCat says:

    The cutout is less shallow.

  30. klrtz1 says:

Ha ha, you idiots. The most obvious difference is the cardboard cutout casts a shadow. How could you miss that?

Does that mean our President is a vampire?

  31. AlanABQ says:

Does that mean our President is a vampire?

Not necessarily; but he does suck.

  32. RD says:

The difference? About twenty IQ points?

  33. RD says:

One pretends to understand economic theory?

  34. seanmahair says:

    Dearest Jimmy,
You always solve my conundrums. Thank you darlin’ man.

  35. Son of Bob says:

One of them is a lifeless, soulless object that will never say anything intelligent no matter how long you wait, and the other one’s made of cardboard.

  36. Jimmy says:

    Oh seanmahairmairishgirl. You’re most welcome!

  37. Karen says:

The cutout ban be recycled, making it an enviromentalist…
However, the cutout was made by cutting down a rainforest for cardboard…
Which makes it a holier-than-thou moralist willing to abandon principles for personal gain.

    Drat, I thought I had a difference there…

  38. TheHat says:

If you turn them both sideways you can see that thecutout has a tinny winny bit of depth. The other one is an illusion with no depth.

  39. ann says:

    I don’t know…….the cut-out looks more honest.

  40. Sraviik says:

the cardboard cutout cannot lie to you.
in fact it cannot speak at all. (at least not unless it has some fancy electronic device attached…)

  41. 4 of 7 says:

I was going to say something about ‘the image of the beast’ but I changed my mind.
    Instead…

    Jeremiah 10:5
“Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
    and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried, for they cannot walk.
Be not afraid of them, for they cannot do evil,
neither is it in them to do good.”

  42. 4 of 7 says:

    Jeremiah 10:5
“… like scarecrows in a cucumber field …”

  43. 4 of 7 says:

    Double post – Oops! Sorry.

  44. Cream O' Weet Rastus says:

The one on the Left does to the economy what Jeffrey Dahmer did to young men…the one on the right is cut from a Cream O Wheat Box!
