In the Idaho Republican primary Tuesday, Ron Paul actually got 24% of the vote — something that would be quite a respectable showing were it a four way race and not already over. I guess it is kind of a slight against McCain, but I don’t know who would really bother to vote in a decided presidential race except those who want to protest the result. And crazy people.
Anyway, Ron Paul now has tens of delegates to match McCain’s thousands, and he plans to use them to win himself the presidency and usher on the rEVOLution. Here’s the plan:
Phase 1: Secure a meager amount of delegates.
Phase 2: Come to the Republican National Convention and demand to be heard.
Phase 3: Realize no one is hearing you.
Phase 4: Shout that you will not be ignored.
Phase 5: Be ignored.
Phase 6: Knock over a chair in defiance of the system.
Phase 7: Head back to room at Motel 6.
Phase 8: Drink lots of cheap booze.
Phase 9: ?
Phase 10: Become president and reduce the size of the federal government until it can be run out of a kiosk at the mall.
This plan seems a lot more dynamic when Ronulans tell people about it because the replace the ‘?’ from Phase 9 with “RON PAUL!”

Aren’t these the same Dillweeds that thought that Ross Perot was going to be the next POTUS? Of course it would be nice if the Republicans would offer up a legitimate nominee…
This ISN’T over!
NOTHING is OVER!!
Read the CONSTITUTION!!!
I cut my OWN hair!!!!
My signs are made from scraps of cardboard and RED, WHITE and BLUE metallic spray paint!!!!!
We will CONVERGE on St. Paul!!!!!!
We will rally in the shadow of the METRODOME and the IDS building!!!!!!!
Picard would kick Kirk’s ASS!!!!!!!!
Jefferson offered us his son. And we rejected him. We should be ashamed.
“…reduce the size of the federal government until it can be run out of a kiosk at the mall.”
Or some blogger’s office! Actually, I would prefer a fully equipped RV or yacht with lots of antennas and weapons. Gotta keep the Dillweeds away. (But hey, I love MY dillweed.)
Obama will be a great president:
http://friendfeed.com/rooms/obamamania
Your plan sounds about right to me. Ronulans will fight on because it’s RON PAUL!!! and because you can’t fix crazy between now and November, no matter how many meds you take.
Ron Paul would be president if it wasn’t for the evil Bush administration, Freemasons, Counsel on Foreign Relations, Abraham Lincoln, MADD, Bilderburg, Cobra Commander, Girl Scouts, Alan Colmes and the Mickey Mouse Club all joining forces against the only hope for America.
Almost everyone I know wants him elected. I did a poll at my weekly “Put Up Homemade Signs for Ron Paul on Other Peoples Private Property” meeting. Out of the 4 other people there, Ron Paul got 87% of the vote. This proves the vote is being rigged.
RON PAUL!!
Obama will change Ameerica for the better. Even the Drudge Report supports him – isn’t that pretty much the info source of the far right? It’s time for you stupid idiots to fall in line and support our next president.
You know one of the (many) entertaining parts of this election? The way the supporters of various candidates insult those who they seem to be trying to get to vote for their candidate.
Don’t want to vote for Obama!? You’re stupid and probably a racist.
Don’t want to vote for Hillary? You’re stupid and sexist.
Don’t want to vote for McCain? You’re stupid and selling your country down the road.
Don’t want to vote for Ron Paul? [10,000 word screed deleted] and you’re stupid.
It’s funny in a “We’re Doomed, doomed” sort of way.
O’Blahblah um there are already plenty of other commie countries….we don’t need to try it here! If you think your guy’s change would make America better, you have your head where the sun isn’t shining! Sorry, we’re not going to let an empty suit ruin this country!
Does anyone else have the feeling that Obama actually DOESN’T know how to ‘change’ the country? And that he’ll surround himself with a mix of liberal white guys who will pull the presidential strings in a haphazard manner?
We talk about his inexperience. I suspect what we’ll see is floundering incompetence.
Oooh, if Drudge is supporting Obama then I guess I have to as well. Baa-baa. Dillweed….
What are my choices again???
1. crazy inexperienced racist socialist male
2. crazy hyper political socialist female
3. crazy socialist in republican robes
4. crazy ron paul…
at this point is there really a freaking difference?
** Caution ** Rough Road Ahead
** Warning ** Slippery Slope
** Danger ** Federal Government Out of Control
Those are Terrible choices, Troy.
Veeshir – you work at that sense of humor. WE’RE gonna need it.
obamalama, I guess when you are that far left Drudge does appear to be to the right.

Great president of what? Certainly not the U.S.
Obama will change Ameerica for the better.
#8 – Posted by: Obamamania on May 29, 2008 11:02 AM
Oh! Ameerica! You had me worried. I thought you were talking about America! I’m feeling better now. By all means, let’s get Obama elected as president of Ameerica, so we will have a fighting chance here in America. Let’s see to it that Mac and HRC get elected to some kind of offices in Ameerica also so they will be out of our hair.
echo5a is so clever for finding a typo. Not to worry I meant America. That’s the country Obama will easily become president of. Those of you who don’t like it will have no choice but to fall in line. He is a deeply intelligent person and you will be lucky to have him as your leader. There will be no office for Hillary though – she lost!
RON PAUL!!!! Uh…Ron Paul?
“Those of you who don’t like it will have no choice but to fall in line.
#18 – Posted by: Obamamania on May 29, 2008 02:58 PM”
Already issuing the communist dictates, eh? Fall in line or else what? Re-education camp? Sorry, but I’ve already been through college. Twice. I’m immune.
I thought Ron Paul was a robot? He isn’t? How disappointing.
Hey! I’m not a “crazy inexperienced racist socialist male”! I’m a crazy inexperienced racist misogynistic communist male!
Stupid cracker!
You know, if I may be totally honest, that last action doesn’t sound all that bad to me…
Charon Blackpowder
“Unless you give a crap, all you’ll get is ***”
I think you are confused about the delegate process. There are some delusional that think he could still win but most are not that stupid.
He has very few pledged delegates true, BUT even a lot of the delegates pledged to McCain are Paul supporters and when the convention holds its platform changes the delegates will be pushing for Paul’s platforms even tho they are forced to vote McCain for the nominee.
The GOP convention, contrary to popular belief, is not supposed to be a republican social event where everyone gets drunk, agrees on everything and rallies around the already decided nominee.
I suggest you check out the libertarian convention – thats how a convention is supposed to work and use to work.
Also –
I can’t believe the Obama love!
Vote McCain = invade Iran (security mission)
Vote Obama = invade Darfur (peace keeping mission)
No matter what you call them it means more dead Americans.
I’m amazed that McCain doesn’t come under more fire for his involvement in dissuading regulators from analyzing the financial solvency of the Lincoln Savings and Loan thrift.
Since it looks like McCain will manage to secure the Republican nomination, I think Ron Paul Republicans should vote in bloc for Obama in November to deliver a crushing blow to neo-con McCain. Supporting Bob Barr would be a more idealistic, yet less practical solution.
I’m no Obama fan, in my mind, Obama is the lesser of three evils (at least he would bring troops home from Iraq). Corruption and ties to lobbyists are just two of many reasons why I just can’t stand McCain. Not to mention McCain has no grasp on the economy, illegal immigration, the constiution, free speech, etc.
Corruption and ties to lobbyists are just two of many reasons why I just can’t stand McCain. Not to mention McCain has no grasp on the economy, illegal immigration, the constiution, free speech, etc.
And you consider Obamahammed to be better on any of those? ROTFLMAO!
Just how the hell did we get an Obama troll on this one?
Tell, me Obamamama, name just one thing — just one — that the Obamessiah has actually -accomplished- as a US senator.
Jake… what Libertarian in his or her right mind would vote for Barack “Socialism Rulz” Obama? Hmmm… I’m pro-freedom… so I guess I’ll vote for the single most anti-freedom Democrat in the Senate to run the whole damn country.
Great idea, moron.
Not to mention McCain has no grasp on the economy, illegal immigration, the constiution, free speech, etc.
Oh, yea, right. Obama has a grasp of these things. That will work.
PON RAUL!!!!
Oh, drats. Messed that up again.
Now that Rupert Murdoch supports Obama, I think I will vote for him. I’m also buying into the change he’s talking about. I just hope he’ll keep killing the ragheads like Bush has been doing before they come over to the great USA and try to kill me because I am free.
Obama 08!
rEVOLution. Here’s the REAL plan:
Phase 1: Secure as many delegates as possible.
Phase 2: Come to the Republican National Convention and demand to be heard.
Phase 3: Realize no one is hearing you.
Phase 4: Shout that you will not be ignored.
Phase 5: Be ignored.
Phase 6: Knock over a chair in defiance of the system.
Phase 7: First ballot, and no one wins a majority.
Phase 8: A brokered convention Second ballot…
Phase 9: All hell breaks loose as there’s enough Ron Paul supporters who infiltrated the delegate pools while the GOP stayed home that Ron Paul wins the nomination…
Phase 10: Become president and reduce the size of the federal government until it can be run ‘constitutionally’.
Pheeww, I can’t wait…
Christopher Goodwin is right, Ron Paul will bring about 600-800 delegates to the convention, that have won delegate positions from the caucus process not reflected in popular vote totals on the MSM. These delegates will not vote for McCain – combined with 400-600 Romney/Huckabee delegates – this will cause there to be a brokered convention, but Ron Paul still won’t have enough to win the convention. It shall be interesting on the second ballot. Who’s message will win, Paul vs McCain, when most delegates have a FREE VOTE and there are 10,000 Ron Paul Activists in St. Paul…
Erin4ronpaul…
Does this mean that ronulans might be able to breed??!!
Ron Paul supporters show up at the convention and get distracted by free mushrooms being handed out by McCain supporters. McCain wins on first ballet and goes on to win the general election. America crashes because McCain sucks anyway, just less then Ron or Obama.
Those of you who don’t like it will have no choice but to fall in line. He is a deeply intelligent person
Except when it comes to stuff like “name how many states there are in the U.S.”
If you met him on the street, Obama would be an intelligent and impressive enough guy, but his intelligence wasn’t particularly exceptional among the other candidates running and his actual experience at getting things done isn’t even remotely in the ballpark. The man gave a good speech, but when it comes to speaking off the cuff and engaging in debates, he isn’t that good.
If you want to toss at me his educational background, the thing I’d toss back at you is that Pat Robertson went to Yale Law School — that might not be the key factor to look at when picking a President.
If you want to toss out any other experience, my response would be this:
When Bush Sr. was getting criticized for picking an inexperienced and unworthy VP, Dan Quayle had twice as much experience in the Senate as the guy you want to make President of the United States.
#36, RD… wow.
Sorry catching my breath here- that was the most passionate endorsment of McCain I’ve run across.
BTW, at least we had to call the Paul trolls out. What the hell did we do to deserve an Obama troll?
I dunno, WAL. You must’ve been BAD, BAD. Actually I think it was a fake troll. Either that or #25 was an excuse for ‘Ed’ to interject something. Ed’s comment was the funniest all day.
Honestly, Jake in Salt Lake, Obama doesn’t talk about the Constitution. I wonder if he can even spell it? How can you rectify our Constitution and his socialist ideas? They just don’t mix, IMO.
If you were a halfway respectable journalist you’d know that Paul doesn’t drink, let alone get drunk. Such comments just reveal your bias and smear intent.
Ok, #41 is the funniest comment all day. There’s nothing like raising the bar.
Seriously, I don’t even care if these are fake trolls anymore – this is genius
Idaho voted 24% for Ron Paul? I know how they feel. Like my Pa used to say, “Too soon old, too late smart!”.
He also used to say, “A farting horse will never tire. A farting man’s the one to hire!”
Seriously, I’ll be very keen to see what sort of platform the GOP finally manages to cobble togeather – hopefully it won’t all be McCains’ reach-across-the-aisle-and-under-the-desk liberal lite Bison Fewmets.
Frank J. is playing I’ve got a secret, and the loyal readers and commenters of IMAO deserve better. He and Sarah K. recently relocated to the spud state, yet there was no mention of their involvement in the primary voting process! I smell a Rush Limbaugh inspired throw off the vote plan here. With a population of roughly 20 registered voters in Idaho, he and the wife could have single handedly rocketed Ron Paul through the glass ceiling. So Frank J., who received your vote?
I could care less who wins, Republocrat or Democon, What should be important to everyone is whoever gets picked should fulfill their job according the country’s rule book, the Constitution. When you are watching professional sports everyone expects the judges to not take sides or have their own agenda. They are expected to make sure that both sides stick to the rules. I don’t see why a President or any other person “SWORN” to uphold and defend it should have a “platform” The platform has been laid out since 1776 and if the rules are to change, there are appropriate ways to do it and that doesn’t meant voting for the next Dictator because you like the platform of that Dictator. For those of you that think America is a Democracy or that the Federal Reserve is Federal, please do your country and the rest of us a favor by staying home on election day. You are far too ignorant to be choosing our next leader. The only exception to this is if you were to go and write in Ron Paul’s name.
My grandpa use to say “Well you can’t skin a cat when it’s drunk on moonshine”. I have no clue what he meant. He was crazy. He used to piss himself.
And that brings us back to Ron Paul. It’s not Ron Paul that scares me so much, It’s his followers. Ron Paul has some good points that most conservatives love. Smaller government, 2nd Amendment. Free trade.
He has some bad points, Reducing our military and intelligence capabilities, Says he’s for smaller spending but still pulls millions of dollars of pork in to his district.
But the deal breaker is the air of paranoia surrounding his followers. Name a group paranoid people that mass around one central figure who are willing to give this person millions of dollars and do his bidding at a moment’s notice. People who are willing to spend all of their free time goggling their leaders name over and over to find out if there is any discussion boards out there so they can passionately discuss their leader? Guess what Ronulans, YOU’RE IN A CULT.
Those of you bashing Ron Paul or calling him crazy please read YOUR Constitution and compare it with his voting record. Then, start researching where all of your tax money is going(the IRS is an illegal institution) you will be disgusted. Wake up and smell your freedom!
“In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”
-Mark Twain
That must be it. We all forgot to read the constitution. Especially in article one, section 8, clause 1 where it says the government will have the power to convey taxes.
Oh and we must of not read where the 16th amendment states the government has the “power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment”
And since we all get on the intranet so we never heard of Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad. So we never would have known that the government always had the power to convey income taxes, now they don’t have to appropriate them by population.
How about you start actually start looking at what people quote not just parroting the same stupid stuff without looking into it.
I dont know why conservatives are attacking him (Ron Paul)
he may be radical but is he not better than McCommieInRedClothing?
Im not a crazy ron supporter but he resonates alot better than someone who believes in global warming
Yeah, BigRichardSmall, most Conservatives like us would like the thing rewritten to fix its blunders (and there are several more prohibitions that should be in there, no matter). Even so, we still don’t support Ron Paul. And the Paul supporters just aren’t listening as to why. I’m done trying to explain it to them except to say: work to elect more Congressmen and Senators with your philosophy.
Pulling our troops out of every foreign country, gutting our intelligence capabilities, and hoping everything turns out okay (Because I’m sure countries like Afghanistan, and Iraq would have had free elections without us.) That is not a foreign policy. It’s a national suicide.

Libertarians do not oppose maintaining a military or gathering intelligence. We simply believe that national security is no reason to trample individual rights as enumerated in the Bill of Rights. Don’t assume, I am anti military. I served over a decade as a Marine. I have two sons currently serving in the army and a third likely headed to Marine boot camp next year. Regardless, I lean much more to the Libertarian views than those of most conservatives or the GOP. Below you will find an excerpt of the LP platform.
3.0 Securing Liberty
The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself. The principle of non-initiation of force should guide the relationships between governments.
3.1 National Defense
We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world and avoid entangling alliances. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.
3.2 Internal Security and Individual Rights
The defense of the country requires that we have adequate intelligence to detect and to counter threats to domestic security. This requirement must not take priority over maintaining the civil liberties of our citizens. The Bill of Rights provides no exceptions for a time of war. Intelligence agencies that legitimately seek to preserve the security of the nation must be subject to oversight and transparency. We oppose the government’s use of secret classifications to keep from the public information that it should have, especially that which shows that the government has violated the law.
3.3 International Affairs
American foreign policy should seek an America at peace with the world and its defense against attack from abroad. We would end the current U.S. government policy of foreign intervention, including military and economic aid. We recognize the right of all people to resist tyranny and defend themselves and their rights. We condemn the use of force, and especially the use of terrorism, against the innocent, regardless of whether such acts are committed by governments or by political or revolutionary groups.
“except those who want to protest the result. And crazy people” – I voted for Paul and I can’t find much to dispute in this sentence. Maybe I should quibble with his choice of “and” as the conjunction; I’m pretty sure us anti-McCain protesters aren’t also nuts. (That’s what the nice young man in the white uniform told me anyway.)
As for the convention, the idea that hundreds of McCain delegates are Paul “sleepers” does portent a convention floor riot, though… a LAUGH riot. Face it, Paul supporters (as opposed to protest voters) aren’t cool-headed and politically-savvy enough to pull off a conspiracy of this magnitude. McCain hasn’t done anything between the primaries and now to make anyone think any differently of him, so we can count on no last-minute conversions, either. As for us Paul protest voters, we’re the ones who flounced out of the booth and refused to attend the caucus. Even if the convention did, somehow, go brokered – the last person the delegates would choose is the weirdo who went on Alex Jones’s troofer show.
Sorry, Ronulans; you’re getting the same turd sandwiches all the other Repubs have had to eat.
Ron Paul is a loony.
When I am elected President in 2024, assuming of course that I receive the majority of electoral votes and that there is still a USA to be President thereof, I will institute a kickass foreign policy based on this:
1. There will be a particular avenue through which it will be very, very easy to emigrate to the United States: claiming political asylum. But there’s a catch, as you will be required to sign certain things in order to seal the deal.
2. The first thing you must sign in order to claim asylum is a petition for the United States to declare war against your home country, invade it, wipe out the incumbent government, and occupy it while helping to set up a government that recognizes a list of inalienable human rights including the right to keep and bear arms, as well as free speech, free religion, due process, and all that cool stuff. In fact, the only way for a country to disqualify itself from being invaded under this procedure will be to make sure it actually guarantees every single right in the list.
3. Every 3 years or so, whichever country that has the most signatures against it will be invaded.
4. All petitioners must also sign up for one of the branches of the War Department, which will be changed back to that name. Reserves are allowed, with the understanding that you will be called to active duty as soon as your home country is up for invasion.
Furthermore I will demand that our nuclear arsenal be brought up to date, with a new lunar testing site.
As far as money I would like some kind of gold or silver standard, but call me crazy. Units of measure should be based on some absolute amount of something measurable. That doesn’t mean all our money has to be made out of precious metal, just like all our yardsticks don’t have to be made out of iridium-platinum alloy.
Why are ronulans so…evangelical?
I like George Guys’ political asylum rules. JFK tried something like that with the Bay of Pigs invasion didn’t he? But he wimped out on the follow through.
If the Ron Paul fans can point me to a quote of Pauls’ in which he clearly states that he does NOT believe in Global Warming and WON’T walk in lockstep with all the rest of the power mad Algore zombies in congress I’d appreciate it. It’d be nice to know there was ONE candidate who wasn’t ready to cripple this nation in pursuit of a policy of regulation and top-down micromanagement that’ll raise our taxes, ruin our economy, deprive us of liberty and give us nothing tangible in return.
Let the conservatives and Ronulans support the Constitution Party (they wanted Ron Paul to jump to them but he didn’t want to leave the Republicans). Let the non-socialist Democrats support the Libertarian Party.
The radical Dems and the blueblood Reps would wither on the vine and we’d have 4 clearly defined and evenly matched parties instead of 2 divided parties. The federal government would fester in perpetual deadlock and we could all get on with our lives.
Because he does not support any piece of legislation not specifically authorized by the Constitution, Paul votes against most bills that involve government spending or expanded government initiatives; thus he does not seek legislation to combat the global warming. Instead, he advocates reducing emissions, halting subsidies to oil companies, and altering a war-for-oil foreign policy that in itself contributes to global warming.
http://pesn.com/2007/11/05/9500456_RonPaul_on_GlobalWarming/
I think Paul has drawn the wrong conclusion on globull warming, though. He seems to think that humans are a significant part of the problem. By the same token, he does appear to be against leveraging tax dollars to fight it. I’m not sure you have given Captain Planet (not) what he asked for. Pauls statement allows for some doubt about what he means when he answered “yes” to the question of whether efforts to slow down global warming should be increased. Does that mean individuals and corporations should take the initiative? (my choice if I actually believed we could do anything about it) Or is he implying possible government action? I don’t think he is suggesting a government role, but it isn’t spelled out, so there is some doubt. Regardless the other three have already sold us out. Paul still espouses individual liberty far more stronly than any of them. He really is a better overall candidate.
#50… “he may be radical but is he not better than McCommieInRedClothing?”
This might be the single most offensive statement ever made about a man who spent years in a POW camp for fighting commies. I don’t agree with McCain very often, but that is a disgusting insult to an American war hero, who I’m sure, has done more to keep this country free than Jake or anyone else here has.
McCain has also done more to take away this country’s freedom than Jake has. So overall, it’s a wash.
When I go into the voting booth there are always some names of candidates (for state, county or city offices) that I don’t know anything about. In such cases I’ll vote for the candidate who’s a member of the party whose platform I agree with most (or am repulsed by least). That’s why I care about platforms.
I wish to rephrase my previous comment. Where I wrote ‘conservatives AND Ronulans’ I meant to say ‘conservatives INCLUDING Ronulans’. Sorry, no offense meant. Thanks for the input.
When Barry Goldwater lost to Johnson in ’64, conservatives couldn’t have forseen how many years it would take before a leader who could present their ideas to the world would arrive.
The big Boogieman in the closet then was the USSR and all government policy seemed to revolve around them. The USSR collapsed when Ronald Reagan (ably assisted by Margrette Thatcher and Pope John Paul II) called them out and forced them to reveal to the world how threadbare and weak the Boogieman really was.
The self-appointed social planners who’d used fear of Nuclear war as a prod to keep us under their control seemed to be out of a job. But they’ve found a new Boogieman to frighten the people with; Global (Globull – I like that!) Warming.
Those who played on our fears may have painted the Soviets as more powerful than they really were but the millions of poor souls who struggled to survive under the Soviets’ brutal rule could have testified that the USSR posed a REAL threat to the world.
Globull Warming is a complete fabrication based on computer models and hubris. When challenged on their preposterous claims their only defense is name calling and more lies.
Now they’re proposing ‘carbon rationing’? The Soviets used control of the food supply to orchestrate famines to suppress disobedience. Now these pr*cks want to control the energy supply the same way.
Newt Gingrich has a petition he’s planning to send to congress. I’m going to put my name (my real name) on it. We have to call out the Boogieman again by telling congress to ‘Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay less!’
AmericanSolutions.Com (I heard about it on Sean Hannity’s show)
If we finally cut through the propaganda and achieve energy independence the social planners will just hunt for another Boogieman. It’s too much to hope for that they’ll ever change. The itch to control other people is too deeply ingrained in their withered little souls. But if we call out every Boogieman they raise up, we’ll always have our freedom; stretched, tattered and stained though it may sometimes seem. Thank you.
Yeah, what crazy ideas: control government spending, get rid of Constitutionally ILLEGAL entities like the IRS, ATF, EPA, etc.
Anyway, all these fascist government agents will be singin a different tune when we put them on trial before the Paulitbureau…!!
The R3VOLution is just beginning…
Wait… what’s all this hype about RuPaul!? (S)He’s just trying to make a living from the support of a bunch of hacks…
Oh wait, y’all were discussing Ron Paul-
Well, still…
#25:
I ran my own climate simulation (on a piece of scrap paper) and reached some alarming conclusions:
Month Average temperature
January 30’s
February 40’s
March 50’s
April 60’s
May 70’s
If something doesn’t happen to change this trend I predict that by next December the average daily temperature will be about 140 degrees! By June of 2009 the surface temperature of the planet will be over 210 degrees, hot enough to boil water! We’ll all have to drink tea! Oh woe is me! Now I’ll have to stockpile ice along with my ammo and MRE’s. I’ll have to have my A/C serviced too.
yeah, those crazy ronulans, we need big government to solve all our problems!
#67-
Why the mall? Don’t you know that there’s at least a 20% mark-up for goods & services acquired there!?
As though most tax bills weren’t padded enough…
name just one thing — just one — that the Obamessiah has actually -accomplished- as a US senator.
He made HRC look like the better candidate.
